So of course this is all theoretical but lets just say I just finished my heads cam swap and the other day my belt fell off driving down the road. There was nothing wrong with it so I just put it back on. I noticed earlier today that the belt was falling off the idler pulley so I slid it back on again to take it for a test drive since I removed and installed my intake manifold for a sensor problem. Anyways on the test drive the power steering went out again (after about a 1/4 mile) so I drove it home before the car heated up or lost power. Anyways right after the belt fell off I noticed that my idler pully fell off as it went flying out from the front of the car while I was slowing down. (I think that pulley could have done the 1/4 mile faster than a rice burner).

Ok now with the "theoretical" background information is there anything besides the actual pulley that I need to reinstalled everything properly. I have nothing there but the bracket and bolt hole so I am sure I will need a bolt but I think there was another piece, can anyone tell me what all I will need. Thanks in advance.

bolt, a kind of conical washer with not to much angle to it, and the pulley itself(which the bearing is part of)... washer kind of looks like ( but with a flat spot in the middle...

so it is just what I had pictured in my head... I dont know how it would have been wrong and the belt kept coming off...

The idler pulley should be spring loaded, if you can put the belt on by hand
without having to move the idler pulley, then the spring is gone in the idler
pulley. I would strongly suggest a whole new idler assembley!
