i noticed in the past few months that i'll park my car out and then the next day when i start it again the fuel guage has dropped a little bit. it's not a lot but it's enough to grab my attention. ex. yesterday evening needle was pegged at full when i parked it. this afternoon when i started it it moved down slightly. i know it's really hot here in texas and gas can evaporate, but that much???

Fuel gauge can change between startups. I park my car on an incline and it always reads higher on starting, after driving a few miles goes back down a little. It checks itself continually. Don't think it's evaporating, we have a closed (EVAP) system.

don't be worried i have never got constant readings from the electronic gauges in any vehicle, I was driving a brand new international 5ton and the gauge would vary by as much ofa 1/4 tank at times.

when you park it next time just wait a minute before killing the engine.
I was watching mine today when I parked at home and it dropped an eighth of a tank at least.I was thinking the same thing cause mine does the same thing.I will get back in after stopping and it will have dropped a bit.
Glad I am not the only one.

Buy you a locking gas cap. Peace of mind against thieves. I left to fishing one morning about 3.00am and I found my latch open and my gas cap on the ground. If your car leaked that much over nite you would know it when drove down the road.
