dont worry it will get done, body looks good, im in the same im in the same situation as you, i have a 70 chevelle, i already replaced the reae end and suspension and transmission. here is my plane(im same age as you man cool)

I'm 24 just turned. I had a 72 chevelle that was beat. Instead of spending a ton of cash restoring it I turned it over to someone else and bought mine restored, best decision I ever made.
If I calculate the money it would have taken to do mine I saved over 10k.
Zboner

yes it is the best decision, i have already put in over 5k and only paid 2.7k for it..but oh well its a labor of love :wtcslap:

I know it's not all that uncommon to do an LS1 swap into a classic. What I'm doing, however, I have yet to see.
The idea is to mount the cradle to the '57 frame. Then, fabricate and weld two hoops to the frame to mount the McPherson strut front suspension. I'm also going to remove the rear subframe of the WS6 and weld it to the frame rails of the '57.
The interior is going to be fun. The interior of the WS6 measures out to be an inch and a half narrower than the '57. The '57 is 7" longer though. So, what I plan on doing is cutting the floorpan of the WS6 and stretching it the required 7" to make it fit properly. The 1.5" difference in the width doesn't concern me too much. It's really only the dash anyway. The extra space will allow a much neater, tucked away look for the roll cage.
It should be fun. The only thing that won't be a WS6 on the car will be the body. Otherwise, I'm using everything. The wiring, the computer, the suspension, the drivetrain, the interior, the stero and speakers... everything.

I think it is a cool project and if you take your time it will come out well. My buddy Jon is doing the same thing. He is putting the HenryJ body on a SRT-4 Chasis. It should really fly when he gets it done.

'56 Chevrolet 210 Del Ray 2 door post. I bought it with a 6 and automatic trans 4 years ago. Since then I have had the body off, the frame sand blasted and powder coated. I replaced the front suspension with Jim Meyer Racing rack and pinion with power and the rear has doubled up stock leaf springs and a 3.73 posi. Engine is now a 350 horse '67 Corvette 327. Trans is now a Tremec 5-speed with overdrive. Interior is replica '56 Del Ray black and white naghahyde.
All it needs is paint and body and a sound system.
It's a daily driver. The Camaro stays in the garage most of the time.

I've got an 88 Monte SS, joined the site wanting to buy a ls1/six speed to do a conversion, but am debating on just buying a WS6 instead so I have two nice cars. Also have a 73 Plymouth Roadrunner with a 383 wedge motor. hasn't seen the road since rebuild, but neither has the SS. Just have all this time since i'm in afghanistan, moneys good, and when i get back it'll all be worth it! I'll post pics in a few months when I get home.

Heres a pic of my 64 Impala Sport Sedan, i bought it when i was 12 (im 21)and restored it with the help of my father back to original condition. Its a 283 with a powerglide. It also still has the original interior
The 72 Chevelle is my sisters car (shes 19) She bought it 4 years ago and also restored it back to stock condition herself with the help of my father. Its a 350 4bbl, Its a genuine SS, she has the build sheet, one interesting thing about this car though, according to the build sheet its actually supposed to be a stripe delete car, ya a SS without stripes! I wish she would have kept it that way.
