clench your teeth?

anybody ever clench your teeth while shifting? i alwasy do..i can't fucking stop it either-it's like, my way of "bracing" myself b/c i don't shift smoothly ever-fucking sucks :thumbdn: they hurt all the time from it too

I guess that isn't a bad idea. Nothing worse then getting rejected trying to hit second or third and getting that loud grinding noise while unprepared.

I get nervous racing, even at the track, my stomach gets all upset. I have no idea why, I have never wrecked or anything....

Or even worse, throwing the car into third and having the shifter come off in your hand, causing you to punch the radio. Oh well, I tossed the knob into the back seat, grabbed the handle and kept going to win the round :)

Still happens to me after 5 years of racing. Even when it's just a time trial, although not as bad as eliminations. I usually have to calm myself down before I stage or I will redlight everytime.

reminds me of the SRTurd4 neon i test drove last month....2nd gear an the ball popped off the shifter-i handed it to the salesman in the back seat and he just looked at me all stupified...

I usually start shaking a little bit and after a few minutes I notice my legs are really tense. And my heart is beating out of my chest.

Sometime I get that way just from seeing a fast lookin car next to me on the highway, I'm weird.

haha I test drove one of those just for the hell of it and the same thing happened to me. i instead threw the shift knob on the floor and told them what if that happened while merging into highway traffic and walked out..

Yeah I get nervous everytime I race also. I think it is just all that adreneline surgeing thru your veins. If I don't calm down before I stage I miss 3rd everytime.

i got nervous racing my friend and grinded the shit outa 2nd gear i let the clutch out when i was putting it in or something,

come to find out my shifter bolts were loose so idk if it was those that made me miss the shift
