4L80E whats the DIFF from the 4l60e?

i just never thought of this but i headed they came on the 95 imapals. whats the diff and is it worth it to switch over

4L80's werent in the Impalas the only thing they have come in so far is trucks. They are a bit bigger than a 4L60e. It will be my next swap but haven't worried about it yet so I can't give ya much details yet. Its a much stronger trans though.

the 4l60e is rated for up to 6000 pound automobiles and the 4l80e is for 8000. um the 4l80e stock isnt that impressive..but when you start to build it up is where it gets nasty. there are cars running close to and over 1000bhp with them. physically the 4l80e is gigantic and heavier then the 60e ..um the valve body on the 80 is also gigantic compared to the 60e
