My buddy has a 17 psi srt4 and claims he will eat me. hes stock other then a boost controller wich got him up to 17 psi. CAn i talk shit before the race or will i loose.

considering both drivers are equal in skill what do you think the outcome will be?

T/A hands down...........hes prolly throwing an overboost code depending on what year his car is, with the stcok PCM.....even if he had a PCM and more boost you should still take him.......IF he can drive really good he should get a 13.7-13.8@101-103 out of it......you got more than that stock.

ok more info here buddy? What are your mods? How do you know both of u are equally skilled? Has he been to the track? Wut stage SRT4 is it? Are u an A4 or M6?

I dont know much about SRT4's but i do know they can be made fast if worked on properly.

ill go along with the only actual srt4 owner to reply thus far and say you'll take him down.

TA hands down. Talk as much smack as you want. The FWD's can't launch for crap if you're doing it from a dig and your top end will eat him alive if you do it from a roll especially if you're a M6. Unless...he has more than he's claiming. I've seen a stock M6 LT1 beat an SRT-4 w/ a boost controller, suspension work, & a tune. He thought he was gonna loose to, so like I told him, RELAX!

i'd say its a drivers race if the srt is running correctly at 17psi with supporting mods and the ta is stock but if i were a betting man i'd put them dollars on the ls1. go from a dig you'll kill him off the line. go from a high roll and your getting more into his territory.

I would say you will probably win because Stone owns one he is more the expert than I am. With that said I usually let the race speak for itself. If you talk a lot of shit and then screw the pooch you are going to look like a fool. If you play it cool and whether you win or lose then you are the bigger man. Just my $0.02.

I had a srt with 18 psi, cai, msd coil, and wires, and adjustable wastegate the car was strong but spun like hell during launch if you didn't do it just right. plus if you run from a roll it depends on what speed you are going from. my srt was strongest from a 40 roll but regardless after about 100 the ls1's always started pulling away. I have beat a few from a dig but only because the other drivers couldn't drive. either way if you don't miss a shift or boil the tires you shouldn't have a problem

this was my friends srt4 so its ok to run my mouth a little(wouldnt do it to a stranger). anyway I won by a couple car lenghts. We had a little get together at my buddys house and were talking about racing. The srt4 kid said all we need is some hot women to do the had thing that starts the race. well eventually the hoties showed up and then the talking shit part came in. I was pretty impressed that all the girls were rooting tor the T/A. all his guy friends were obviously rooting for the srt4. anyway this street is long with like 1 other house because there is a old barn that takes up alot of property. so anyway we raced, I won, and commented its ok that he lost since he is driving a neon. :tap:

quick and probly stupid question that just popped into my head. whats faster? a 1999 z28 6 speed or 1999 trans am 6 speed. i know everythings the same but would a difference in weight be a factor for one of these

Well some z28s have groudn effects and some dont that would be the weight factor but that would only matter if the drivers had the same skill, its a drivers race.

I have had my friends 99 z28 beat my 2000 T/A and i have beaten his its always close.

Nice kill and predictable outcome. He probably has an upgraded WGA (Waste Gate Actuator) that allows him to spike higher, and hold 14-15psi until redline (versus a stock SRT4 which usually spiked 14 and holds 11-13 depending on boost leaks).

That modification alone will add about 10-20whp, depending. But on a Stage 0 car, he's getting dangerously close to throwing an overboost code without MAP clamp or something similar.

Camaros (93-02) are always lighter than Trans Ams, stock that is, So every single thing being equal, a Z will beat a TA. But not my much.
Pretty much a drivers race.

lol they weigh like 50 pounds less you could make that up with the drivers being lighter, its really a drivers race and also why i starve myself gotta burn some pounds for the race.

By the way, whats a WS9?

WS9 is the RPO code that translates to the Formula package. I think all V-8 Camaros and Firebirds carry the WS9. I know my firehawk has the WS9 and the WU6. The WS-6 has WS6 and WS9.

Ya more like 60 pounds, and thats not much either, and thats why I said "Every single thing being equal, it would go to the maro, but not by much"

And remember, They say every 100 pounds is a tenth of a second, and a car length. So every pound does matter, hell the new ZO6 is only around 50 pounds lighter than the reg C6. And look at the differance in performance. Oh yeah it does have a few more horses too. LOL
