Judges look for cleanliness. Clean everywhere and then do it again. Be sure to clean the fenderwells real good and under the hood. Also, don't have any cleaner residue lingering around, like too much tire shine etc.

Ya, I started at the end of last year, and got 4. I don't get to do a lot of them though.

Heck yes, there are a lot of shows where the judges prefer the stock over the modified cars. Car shows are not science. I have been beaten by cars that were no where near as modded as mine, but they were well maintained stockish cars but that was what the particular judges on that particular day liked. Car shows are a dice roll and there are lots of classes. Its not unusual that you will enter a small show and only have 2-3 cars in your class and all 3 of you trophy. Most definately give it a try and don't get discouraged if you don't win the first time or two around. You will most likely meet a lot of cool car people, see some nice cars, get some ideas and have fun.

Yes, those always help a lot. It shows more pride in your car and for the judges that don't know a carb from FI (and there are car show judges like that) it helps a lot.

I have been wanting to get one myself and have tried online but didn't find anything I liked. This will sound dumb probably, but I would try your local yellow pages and look under signs or something along those lines. I think you will have better luck at getting it customized your way if its done locally. Thats what I have found out so far anyways.
Thanks for the compliment as well :)

I have considered that one real hard and haven't ruled it out, but its not at the top of my list. I love Afterthoughts, they know me so well, they usually do discount me since I have bought so much over the years from them. :lmao:

The wire delete cleans up the engine bay so nicely. So many of the better appearance mods out there are free, the wire mod, the side molding etc. Brent does have a real nice Z :worship:
I imagine your red theme is going to turn out real nicely and keep posting updates as you progress :D

Its a dangerou$ site, you can spend a lot of money in a very short amount of time if you aren't careful.
DO NOT VISIT THAT SITE IF YOUR CREDIT CARD IS PAID OFF OR YOU HAVE A HIGH LIMIT

Great looking Z. defininatly show worthy. get the !wire mod done and do a !decal mod too. those just clutter things up and detract from the beauty of everything else.

now for a good engine bay mod should i difintly have some FRC's for the judges? for the clean LOOK?

Remove all the stickers/decals in the engine bay :yup:

Either that or paint/powdercoat your valve covers, coil brackets and paint your coils. I did all that and have all chrome bolts and still ended up covering mine with the FRCs though.

thats to bad that nobody will see all your hard work under the FRC's. but at least you know you did them and that there!!

Thats what it looks like underneath my FRCs. I asked several people their opinion on which way looked better and it was pretty close to 50/50. Both look good, but the FRCs hide some wires and just give it a little cleaner look IMO and that was the deciding factor for me.

05-25-2007, 05:09 PM
i would also say 50-50 but since you got the smooth black llok going its also better wit the FRC
