GROUND STRAP?? For Pollen?

Hi,
I have been trying to find a place online that sells ground straps. I cant seem to find one anywhere. I was told these will cut down on static electricity therfore reducing the amount of dust/pollen my car attracts. Can anyone tell me where I can buy one of these?? Thanks

Any electronic place like Radio Schack, should have some. You would need to modify it. Most of ESD straps they sell are either foot straps, or wrist strap
So, i don't know how you intend to use them on your car
Another way will be using an old jumping cable. You can attach one end to the chassis of the car, and the other to a grounding source. Jumping cables work great. see if you could buy a cheap set for what you would pay for a grounding straps from a store...

The strap that they told me about connects to the chasis of your car and drags on the ground. This somehow reduces static electricity.

Thats exactly what I am looking for!!! Thanks!!! I swear I couldnt find one anywhere. LOL I am gonna buy one and try it out. Have you ever used these Goose?? I know my car has MAJOR static electricity because when I remove the wax from the front plastic nose on my car the hair stands up on my arm and I can feel it big time. I never had this on my old truck. Its weird.

I've never used one before, but now that you mention it, i may have to try. Buffing can build up a lot of static, it's a PITA. I think i will order one, or homemake one just for detailing :)

Yea I went to the drag races last week and alot of guys had them on their street cars. I will let you know if it cuts down on the dust/pollen clinging to my car.:yup:

a lot of european cars used to come from the factory equipped with these....I used to see that a lot when I was little....They'd be draggin these little black things by the rear bumper....

Ok I got my ground strap in today LOL!!! It came from china and I never saw anything so fkin weird in my life!!! Its huge and has a huge skull on it with eyes that light up when u hit your brakes and its the most rediculous looking thing I ever saw. I didnt even know what it was when I opened it. Needless to say this thing is NOT going on my car!!! Its going back. I ordered another one from a different place that is just a plain black strap. ahhhhh-It never ends!!!!

Do you get a lot of pollen while you're driving, or is it just when you're parked?
I wouldn't put some like that on my car and drive it. Some of that stuff will and can cause sparkles

Yea I didnt see the picture when I ordered (it was tiny) but I ordered a plain black one today. O --I got my red moose glaze in today!! and some new lake country pads. I cant wait to try it out.

Ok- I got a normal ground strap from a place online. Has a simple design in order to mount it and best of all it doesnt look like a plastic Conan the barbarian sword with skulls on it that light up when you hit your brakes!! I am gonna put it on in the next few days and will let you guys know if it really works. I dont know about yall but any little reduction in pollen/dust on my black z would be great!!

If your using it while parked you can just attach a small chain. Some thing about 1/2" wide and 12" long to axel or frame. this is what we do as added help in the down draft booth painting. Kills alot of static electricity.

Yea I heard about using a chain. I am using mine while driving so I got a rubber one.
