Got tired of putting on tire dressing by hand so it wouldn't spray all over the wheel. I saw a plastic wheel 'cover' at the Englishtown car show that looked like a garbage can lid, made & sold to stop this problem. Suddenly the light went on: I made a 16" (or whatever size wheel you have) cardboard circle , then I just stuff it into the wheel opening before I detail the tire. Works great & the price is right! Make the cover slightly oversize so it holds itself in place. :burnout:

I just use an old sponge, and spray the tire dressing all over the sponge, also works quite well.

It doesnt only get on your wheels, it gets all over your entire car.

Normally, I use a sponge applicator. I spray onto the applicator, then onto the tires. However, the idea is great when you're going to use something stronger to clean the tires as opposed to "dress" them like Westley's Bleche Wite
