What products are you using?
Clean the inside on a vertical (side-to-side) motion, and the outside in an up and down motion, that way when they dry and you see the smudge, or streaks, you'll know what side they're on
I would use NXT Glass Cleaner, Adam's or Stoners Invisible Glass
For the headlights you asked me earlier, try something like Novus plastic cleaner, or wait until i do a little bit of research so that you won't be wasting your money on stuff that may not work

Ok, I was asking the same question just as late as yesterday!! The cleaners that they have out now are not as good as they were 10 years ago. Soo I ask a friend of mine that has a window washing company. He uses Dawn Dishwashing liquid and then he uses a 5" wide Squeegee to get the water off!!!

that's probably because the ammonia content on cleaners of past years. While ammonia is a good cleaning agent for windows, the fumes it expels/flashes will eventually "cloud" the windshield

I went to a company that replaces windshields and bought the cleaner they use. It works really well at getting water spots and streaks out of windows.

Back in the day newspapers were great but these days most use a water-based ink in thier printing......this will come off on your glass and cause smugs......if you can find the rolls of paper that is used on prepping cars for paint that works great.....just dont get the really thick stuff......that's what I use and it does fine.......

never have any probs with newspaper, but its all good. windex and a shammy work as well.
I use windex to clean it, then "buff" the windows with a dry cotten towel to get rid of streaks. Works good enough for me.

make my own glass cleaner, works better than any OTC brands and cost way less.
16oz rubbing alcohol
2 tbsp prell hair shampoo (yes, the HARD stuff! LOL)
1 gallon water
if u want a little extra umph add a tsp of white vinegar
I mix in an mt windsheild washer fluid bottle and it lasts about a year for a grand total of $4 spent. i also use surgical towels to clean the windows, completely lint free.
After that I seal with the same sealant I use on my paint(ultimate paint sealant) to give that "rainx" effect.

i tell ya what works for me use whatever your favorite cleaner is but only maybe a 1/4 of a squirt bottle and fill the rest of it up with water. i been using cheap stuff from walmart and auto parts stores with about the same results and very little streaking.

Eagle One and newspaper. Only thing I find that leaves no streaks or lint period. Eye Candy for glass IMO. Makes the window look better than new. But if you have any chips in the glass it will show them very well.
