Welded or bolt in? Mild steel or chromoly? 4 point or 6 point? Weight?

Info, pros, and cons please.

Thanks

in each one, chromoly, mild-steel, 4-5-6pt, it shows the weight.
I went w/ the 4pt welded.

Why a 4 point? What concerns, if any, have you had since having it installed? Did you go with mild steel or chromoly? Why? What does the car feel like after installed? Why did you weld instead bolt on? How is the carpet affected? I'm assuming a bolt on will sit on top of the carpet. Will a 4 point be legal at the track?

Your reply is pretty generic. Please expound, eh?

i ended up going w/ a 4-pt because of a X-mas sale going on @ Wolfe. was thinking 5-pt... 6pt not an option (my wife would kill me)
I went w/ the mild steel cause w/ the weight diff and $-diff... it wasn't justifiable, imho... thinking again... i should've. Weld is more solid... lower maintenance, less risk of failure. For the carpet... a small incision making it perfect on the bar... looks nice finish.

I went with 4 pt bolt-in steel with a removable x-bar. Because that all my local track needed.

I would like to see pics of how the bolt in attatches to the floor, particularly where it is most visable near the door entrance.
I am also curious how back seat entrance is for rear passengers with the 4 point bolt in. Anyone have family that uses this?
Unfortunately the ET cutoff is 13.50 which isn't hard to reach, and a bar may be in my future. I don't want to cut the car at all and would only consider a bolt in,,,as I may remove it when not at the track.

Close up pics with the doors open and mounting procedures would really help someone like me decide if I even want to do this or not. Thanks,,,Larry.

Taking a cage in and out is not something that is easy or fun. Carpet removal and panel removal is required. Not something just ot jerk out real quick. The cage makes getting into the back a little more difficult, but with the removable bar that helps a lot.

Doesn't sound like it's for me then,,,thanks anyway.

Nice lookin cage there HASTINGSRJ. I was very pleased to see that Wolfcraft is located here where I live. I will visit their operation.

One question. Does any of the removeable stuff(crossbar and the swingouts) vibrate running down the road?

Thank you. Yeah, Wolfe, definatly awesome people to deal with. When AMS (Arlington Motor Sports) fucked me over on this cage, I called Dan at Wolfe, and he sent me the cage. Great people! No vibration at all. The cage comes with pull pins for the cross brace, but I just put bolts in mine, since I dont have a back seat, and I really dont let a lot of people in my car anyways. Bolt in cages are really easy. It will take two people to install it. Me and Ed did mine in about 1.5 hours or so. It does require that you cut the carpet, and drill holes in the floor boards, behind the seats. The cage comes with all the hardware you need, bolts and steel plates for the bottom. The rear bars bolt up to the rear seatbelt mounts. I think that www.wolferacecraft.com they have instructions on their website. It will make the car a lot stiffer as well. Hope that helps you out.

I agree with Rob. Great kit. Easy to install since we don't have a top to get in the way. ;) No vibrations and you will get alot of looks.:)

Thanks alot for the input guys. I'm going to get one. I don't think I really NEED one but then again ... A torque arm and roll cage are next for me. Right now I'm busy trying to break in a new clutch. So probably after that.

Again, thanks to all.
