I'd rebuild your tranny, even possibly rebuild it to with stand more power is also an option. Getting a manual would be ALOT of work, not impossible, but I think it would be a challenge to do it and get the reliability you would out of your rebuilt auto. I guess it depends on what you want to do with your car. What are your plans for it?

planning to build to a 13.5 second daily driver, mostly highway driven for 20 miles to and back to work, built for topend, many things are planned, a new tranny was planned, but now im kinda pushed into that =)

i had to have my tranny rebuilt because the idiot of a previous owner had nuetral dropped it on a daily basis(or atleast thats what it looked liked with ahlf the clutches in the pan.
i had a local shop rebuild it for me, while they were there i had them put in thinner clutches and they made it capable of taking evrything my 3800 will ever put out.
cost me 1500

What are the specifics on what they did with the tranny?
Mine cost me $1100... built for a 10 sec car... I'll never reach that time though ;)

I would not say its cheaper to convert to a M5, but a A4 race build is much easier on everyone. -Tim
