For stuff you can get locally, try Mother's Reflection Syn Wax, or Meguiars # 26 wax
I also recommend Meguiars NXT, not known for its durability, yet produces a great shine!

Well if u wanna start from scratch this is wut i wood do.
1 Wash it with dawn to strip off old wax
2 Wash it with good car soap
3 Use a claybar and clay the car using a quick detail spray
4 If ur covered with swirls apply swirl remover
5 Apply polish
6 Throw on a good coat or two of wax

Use chrome wheel cleaner for ur rims and if ur still not happy, buy some chrome wheel polish.

Well, if you feel very ambitious for this job, let me then be a bit more specific...
There's a line of products called Duragloss (http://www.autogeek.net/duragloss.html) of which I have 5 of their products; car shampoo, leather cleaner, Aquawax spray, Aluminum Polish, and their Fast Clean & Shine Detail Spray
So far, I like what I've used. I first heard of this product on autopia.org
Duragloss won't break the bank, and i believe it's only available at Carquest stores. It's worth a shot for what you'll be doing, I've heard nothing but great reviews at autopia
At very minimum get:

-Duragloss Polish & Cleaner (PC) #101
-Duragloss Total Performance Polish (TPP) #105

PS: I have those two products on my wish list for this Summer :)
I've just got too much products I still need to go thru before I add more. I know, that's a nice problem to have
