If you have then you're a Jedi and I'm the apprentice. I know I'm not modded enough right now... at least I don't think so and I've never had the pleasure of running with one. What more would I need to do to get to where I'm going?
by the way leave your story here.

Well a supercharger would help alot. If you cant afford that, then try some NOS, alot of it. Unless you try running a modded Termy, then you will need both for mentioned products. Nice talk, see ya out there.:itsok:

I still haven't had the chance to run one, however here are a few of the stats: 0-60 is around 4.5 - 4.9 ish. Quarter mile times are in the range of 12.8 - 13.1 at around 107 - 110 mph. Keep in mind, this is for a bone stock car. The Terminators are very cheap to mod and are VERY responsive (ie. pulley swap). It wouldn't take much more than a pulley swap and a full exhaust to put up considerably more impressive numbers!!
Let's assume for a moment that you're looking to run a bone stock Terminator....It's going to take roughly 360 - 390 RWHP (depending on the rest of your setup) to get our SS down the track at those times.
Personally, I would like my car to at least run with a stock one, so here's my planned list of mods to do the trick:
All of my mods below (full exhaust, 3.90 rear, ported TB, K&N FIPK, suspension upgrades, custom tune, etc.), drag radials for traction off of the line and a cam swap.
Of course, there is a much easier (and potentially more cost effective) way to get there.....150 shot of the go juice!
After having said all of that, it's funny how we always talk about how severly modded the poor pre-05 Mustang GT owners would have to be to even stay close to an LS1, however Ford got a little sweet revenge with the 03 and 04 Cobras! Personally, I would love to have one, I'd just have to get rid of the IRS!

Yeah, they had to add a SC just to keep up with a car that was already a year out of production! and just for clarification.. it wouldn't take all that much for an a4 car to run with a stock cobra... if 12.8-13.1 is the norm.. I'm running 12.1 with the mods in the sig...

I ran one (redfire 03, satin wheels) with a 2.73 pulley and exhaust on the highway and was side by side from 80 to 140 three times. Now that was the loudest, wickedest sounding Cobra I ever ran across. GD thing sounded like it had a 460 cu big block in it.
Then I ran one (black 04, chrome wheels) with a Steigmeyer ported Eaton at an 1/8 track. Apparently when he went into third his clutch slipped badly, but the guy said I had him beat before he slammed it into third and his clutch decided to go the way of the Dodo. (I could smell his clutch when we talked at the end of the track)
Both of these runs were full body weight, cammed with full bolt-ons, and 4.10's. I was putting 372/368 to the ground at the time.
But yeah, that 2.73 pullied 03 would have handed me my ass without the cam upgrade. I needed every one of those ponies to keep up.

I raced one on the bridge and I beat it. The guy was kinda amazed and asked what I had. It was from a roll, so I dont know how he fucked up. Only answer would be slow, low shifting.

I beat one and he was spraying, and i have just bolt ons.
Maybe its just cause im an amazing driver maybe its because his engine started smoking 5 seconds into the NOS spray lol. Looked liek he lost all power cause he was pulling me hard then i flew by him as i went through smoke.

don't get cocky buddy, underestimating is always the biggest mistake:happy: I'm not exactly stock either. I've heard that I've got enough mods to get into the 12s without much trouble. I've got pace lts, ory, mti lid, kn filter, 335cme catback, wires, and a 6spd...
I've got a little bit going the best I hear of a 03-04 cobra is 12.6 in the 1320. That's ONLY if driven perfectly. I hear the SSs with 6spds get 12.9-12.8 ONLY if driven perfectly. Most with the SSs from what I see get about 13.3-13.2 or so. I don't really look at cobras but I'm guessin they usually get aroud 13 flat.
I'd run you if you were stock! The advantage is in your court, but I'd still consider it a drivers race with what I've got.
If I had a supercharger, face it... I'd :sex: you!:rotfl:

Too bad Im not stock. And by the way a stock SS is hard pressed to get into the 12's, a Termy will run a 12 every time, But from a 20 or 30 roll its a whole diiferant story, a termy will walk away from a stock SS from a roll. The 60 foot times in the quarter mile of a termy sucks, thats why they only run a mid to high 12, with 1 mod (drag radials) a Termy will run a 12.3-12.5 every time. 1 mod. Go to 4 mods (DR's, Pulley, KNN, tune) and it will run a low to mid 11 sec qaurter,:sex: :sex: I love it.:sex: :sex:

I raced one at the track. I'm almost full bolt ons... just missing LS6 intake, EWP and a pulley. I ran 12.7 and the bra' ran mid to high 11s I think.

Motor trend, I think, grate article, the GT 500 is a 4000 pound tank with no traction, some times Im ashamed my car is related to them. Although MMFF got a new GT 500 to a 12.4 with adjusting tire pressure and launching at lower RPMs. Still the C6 is just abetter car than the Gt 500 and My car for that matter. I love them, even though I can beat em, I would trade my Termy for a 05 C6 right now.:notworthy: :notworthy:

Not you specificaly, all people, are always saying the classic line of: Ford had to add a charger to keep up with the LS1. well said.
and i just have to say, im all for GM loyalty, but there is a fine line between loyalty and stupidity. why dont some of you just fess up to the fact that you would take a cobra if you had the chance? they are amazing cars no matter how you slice it. low 12s with drag radials??? shoot, thats a dream come true for any honest car lover.
and think about it, why would Ford, in 2003 mind you, give a crap what the f bodies were doing? they were already outselling GM with the stangs, and the terminator has been a confirmed vette hunter. so in actuality, i highly doubt their mindset was, "well we cant keep up with the f bodies so we're gonna send this to svt and supercharge it". come on. you make em sound like whining nancies, and what did they have to whine about, they were selling the stangs like hotcakes (still not sure why). lets be alittle bit smarter in our reasoning here guys. some of this is starting to sound ricer....
if you want a shot at the cobra, mod your car and go hunting. full bolt ons, a cam, and a decent tune should leave you around 420 hp (depending upon a variety of things).
quit bitching and race....it aint gonna kill ya.

I beat a black one once. An orange one beat my firehawk back before I did the heads and cam. I really love those cars. And no matter how much we talk up our LS1's taking to mods which one do you think costs less when you can add a pulley and a tune and enjoy the gains they get. For anyone that is thinking the spray route they can do that too. Don't get me wrong I love my LS1's but you have to give credit where it is due sometimes. And by Ford giving it a forged motor from the factory those things get a bit of a leg up on us. Most important thing to remember is that someone is always faster. Can you say TT Vette or Viper? I can type it but saying the words would cost too much. LOL

Damn dude, that thing was prolly putting 700 to the wheels. You had no chance, head/cam/nitrous, still no chance. That thing would prolly run mid 10's.

Yeah they are fast but it should be it has the same motor as the Enzo just slightly detuned. It wouldn't take much money to get the Z06 ahead since there is a nice aftermarket for american cars not sure what mods you can do on that Ferrari well not without taking out a second mortgage :)
side note: You could have one for 260K and a two year wait since that is the estimated time to get on after placing an order lol.

I hate to see such a nice piece of equipment being took out. Saw a nice Corvette a few years ago upside down in Palm Springs. Pure tragedy man.
This chic I was dating put my 01 Cobra into the woods one night leaving a bar. Did 5k worth of damage to the right side. (liability only :sulk:)
I kept her around until she paid her half of the damage cost, then I chucked her ass like spoiled milk. You just can't wreck a man's pride and joy. You might as well kick him in the nuts twice, you would be better off.

Im in Springfield, By Branson. If you make it down this way, check out the Rogersville track (20 min away, up 60 highway), its pretty cool, some great cars there, but its nothing compared to some of the tracks in major cities. The Ferrari has a 131 mph trap vs. the AWESOME, and I repeat AWESOME C6 Z06's average trap of 125 mph.
I love the Z06, but trap speed is a great indicator of power vs. weight ability of a car.
Did I say the C6Z was awesome? Well, I meant it is REALLY AWESOME.
With a measly cam upgrade, the Ferrari has NO chance. Well, only if the IRS shattered on the Z at the line.

2 of my verygood friends have terminators, i grew up with them since i was a kid. One has the complete bolt ons, suspension stuff and a whipple blower. He made just shy of 620 to the wheels. (618 to be exact) The other has a an intake, exhaust, and a stiegemeier VI w/ pulleys. Made 493 at the wheels. U can c how insanley these things respond to mods. To make that kinda power with an LS1 ull need full bolt ons and a big H/C. Even then ur not getting anywhere near 618 w/o NOS.
Iv never ran one. I played with my friend on the road a few times and, well basically he handed me my ass on a silver platter.

There is a stage VI Stegemeier? I want it. Last time I looked it up they were only to stage IV for the termys, but I heard about a stage V coming soon, I guess they just went right for the VI. That is going to be one of my next mods (within 1 year) to mine, its pretty cheap, they charge like 500 to port it, and 500 to take it off and put it back on. 1000$ gets you like 50 rear wheel horse. And they do a before and after dyno, Not to bad.

Ha Ha, funny. No much respect to the All mighty ZO6, I have yet to race one, because I have only seen 2 around here and cant ever catch one going my way. But I have seen many Internet Termys try to run the Z, It seems like a stock ZO6 will beat a Cobra unless the Cobra has 550 (Or more) Rear wheel horsepower, if not, they lose. I only have 457 RWHP, but I would still love to try. I wouldnt expect to win, but it would be fun. I do know a regular C6 isnt a problem for me. Now your mods on your Z, Im sure I would need 600 RWHP to keep up. But remeber I only spent 26 grand, how much did you spend?
And by the way, If I could afford it, A Z would be in my garage. It must be nice to be asked a question about your Corvette and your answer is "Which one" Much respect my brother.
Are you going to trade in your Z for the new 650 horse Supercharged Corvette SS/Blue Devil? Im sure they are gonna be EXPENSIVE as HELL

Sounds about right on the #'s. My modded C6 Z is just over 500RWHP and I have a few friends with Cobras in the 630 RWHP and they are always good runs. Very close.
I will get an SS if I can get my hands on one, but I am also suppose to get a GT500 this summer. My 2007 C6 Z06 will be modded soon to the 500 RWHP range and used as a daily driver. The 2006 C6 Z06 will get a full cage and maybe a turbo setup to become my track car mainly. I have one other reg C6 auto(lightly modded) that I bought for my wife so she would keep her paws off my Z's. :chuckles:
You may have trouble finding guys to run in the Z's. Most guys that buy them are trying to buy that last chance at youth in life and can't drive for shit. If they do run, as I said, they can't drive and don't know how to use their ride to it's potential. If you find an owner like myself you're in luck. I bought the things to run, win or lose, and not to polish the car or my ego!! :D Later dude.

Yeah, they had to add a SC just to keep up with a car that was already a year out of production! and just for clarification.. it wouldn't take all that much for an a4 car to run with a stock cobra... if 12.8-13.1 is the norm.. I'm running 12.1 with the mods in the sig...
Yea but it seems that u are closer to sea level.......Being that ur cars are on a an even playing field.....A S/C car can compensate for most of the elevation changed and an NA car cant.....So say u run and beat that cobra down there with just boltons, travel to a higher elevation with the same mods and race cobra again the results will be different as his car will still perform the same and urs wont....So saying that a bolt-on LS1 will take a cobra is a lil biased and not 100% true depending on conidtions....
I raced my buddies on 12 pounds of boost and took him pretty nasty but i was on DR's and he was on street tires....had he been on some DR's aswell it woulda been a hell of a race cause he didnt pull till the top of my third gear.

Bottom line is: A stock 03/04 Cobra will beat a Stock 01/02 Ram Air or SS. They are at least 4/10ths sec faster in the Qaurter on average. Also will beat a stock 97-04 Vette by more like 3/10ths on average. Like it or not that is the truth.
That is from a dig, from a roll, they beat em even worse. Some DR's on all the cars compared, the comparison will change alot. Then the Cobras will win by half second or more. A simple set of DR's will put a Termy to a very low 12 sec qaurter, mid 12 even if you suck at launching/shifting. DR's on a Vette or SS only gets you to mid to high 12 if you can launch/shift well.
Ill say it once again, Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords got the stock 03 Termy to a 12.4 with the stock Goodyear STREET tires by only lowering the tire pressure. Thats impressive. They also got a SS to a 12.9 with the same trick. And the Vette is not much faster than the SS. Maybe 1-2 tenths.

Agreed except that i got that issue of MM&FF's and the cobra ran a 12.79 @ 106.39MPH and the SS went 13.252 @ 106.42MPH......He missed 4th in the cobra and still made the 12.79 he claimed it had a 12.60 in it had he not missed.

I was messing around w/ one today, not sure on the year. From a dead stop...we were pretty even...I was gaining as he switched gears but he came back till we had to stop. then we went from a 40mph roll...and he had a little jump on me but I hung in there right with him till I had to stop for traffic. I asked what he ran out the track...but I didn't hear what he said. He had 2 other people in his car...and I was alone which gave me some advantage. But non the less it was a good race.

That issue you are refering to is a comparison to the yellow SS. It was done with a massive head wind. A couple issues earlier, MMFF got the Cobra to a 12.43 at 113 mph, You can probally find the article on the net, Take at look at this link, http://www.musclemustangfastfords.com/features/mmfp_0611_cobra_vs_shelby_gt500/index.html

The IRS is stock. I do have a pulley swap done to my car, It has a 2.8 (14 psi) pulley on it. I didnt do any work to it, it had it all done by the previous owner, Im the second owner at 11k miles. It also has a catless X pipe and Flowmaster catback exhaust. A Knn filter and a Preditor tune. Just those few things puts it at 457 Rear Horse. I love it.
Next will be a stage IV port for the Eaton, and a set of DR's. I will be happy with 520 RWHP, I think the Port and a retune will do that. I should be able to run high 10's then, right now I know I can do 11's (havent been to the track yet) probally a 11.3 or so with DR's, an 11.7 with the Street tires. Those are my guestiments. The only proof I have of a ET is my Gtech SS meter, it says I can do a 0-60 in 4.3 and a qaurter mile in 11.7. I dont know how acurate they are. I do know it really helped me improve my launching skills. I have learned not to redline in first gear, to shift to second at 5500 or so, and my times went way down. I keep trying to beat my scores. It seems like I set a new best every couple of months. Practice makes perfect.
All my money is tied up right now, saving for a down payment for a house. Maybe later I will get the Whipple, My friend runs a KB and it makes 592 to the wheels, He is rebuilding it right now, new heads/cams and a bigger KB, He will be pushing over 700 to the wheels. He will be running low 9's soon. He owns a shop (Injected Racing) though and gets hella discounts and free labor. I am a poor man, with a Rich mans taste. Is there any other kind? LOL:thumbup:

Im not so sure about that. Cus im runing 12.8 right now with only 316 rwhp with an automatic. thats nowhere near the hp ratings you'r talking about.

There is still life in the horse, so i say Beat it. Did you click the link in my prev. thread? I also have read that article, it is a great article.
Alot of times a magazine will do more than one article (I know it sounds crazy) on the same kind of car. I think MMFF has done around a million on the 03/04 Cobra. I said it wasnt that issue, it was an earlier issue. Once again, not the Pony Car Death Match issue you are speaking of. Just not sure what month it was, but MMFF got a 03 Cobra to a 12.4 at 113 mph.
Here is an outtake from the link:
The snake's MSRP was up there at $34,000-plus, but the improvements impressed the masses enough to justify the cost. Performance that was unheard of with bolt-ons was just a few mods and less than $2,000 away. MM&FF modified one of the first Terminators, which ultimately ran 11.68 with just a small drive pulley, a K&N filter, the front antiroll bar removed, and M/T tires. Bone-stock it ran 12.43 at 113 mph! Owners have gone 9s since, some with mostly stock engines.................

It is almost all the way down the first page it says:
"Test driver Evan Smith slipped the clutch while feeding the throttle and got off with a very clean 1.902 60-foot. He found all four gears en route to a blistering 12.195 at 114.71 mph. That is far superior to our best-ever 12.43/113 in a stock '03 Cobra."

I dont like the new body style, and it still has not grown on me like I thought it would. The Shelby Looks ok, much better than the GT. My favorite new style Mustangs are the Stage 3 Roushs. They look cool. And they are faster than the GT 500 with less Horsepower.

I had similar experiances in 1996 with my 89 5.0 stang. The LT1's would beat me, I had all the basic bolt ons and could only kinda keep up with the Z28 or the TA, so I traded in my Mustang for a 93 TA 6 speed, I loved it, with bolt ons and a chip (yes the 93 still used a chip), I could beat auto LS1 Vettes and stay with the 6 speeds. Then I got a 97 Ram Air and did the same bolt ons. Then I started running in to alot of LS1 F bodys, I could barley beat a stock one with my modded LT1, so I traded in my 97 for a 99 LS1 6 speed TA. Sounds like a Beast, I want to be pushing 520 to the wheels, all I need is a Port, a differant pulley, and a re-tune. As far as the supercharger whine, I didnt like it at first, it sounded like a toy car, like riding in a Big Wheels when I was a kid. But now I am used to it, dont even notice it. Cant really say I like it, but it does sound cool when you come up on some and fly by them. People either think it is an abulance or a Jet. I haven't heard to many superchargers but just a few. I've heard one in a Cobra and I've heard one in a GT. I wasn't a big fan and I was just happy that I recognized what I was hearing.
You guys ever heard of Need for Speed Most wanted? I've got the sickest vette on this game. Well the engine is built and on top of that I added a supercharger. The sound of that thing on that car made me fall in love with the sound of it over the turbocharger. I mean it sounds so good sucking all that air in and the roar of the engine at the same time. Its like the sound of the air going in and the roar of the engine are equal and it sounds so good.
Thats pretty much my reason for wanting a supercharger on my car right now.

I have a 03 Cobra all the boltons ported blower etc, 505 rwhp and 520 torque and the engine is just as Ford built it. I have absolutely PUNISHED the 4.6 engine 60k miles not a whimper out of it. I have lost twice on the street both time when I was stock. Once against a WS6 with an intake and exhaust mods. He was alone I has 380 miles on the car, I also had 2 people with me approx 450 pounds extra weight. He got me about 1 car or so.
2nd time a STOCK looking 5.0 wiped my A** from a 30 roll by about 7 lengths in second gear. Heres a hint if you see a little blue or red fuel pump at the back of a 5.0 be careful it could spell trouble.
One thing is for sure the 03 04 cobra engine and the 5.0's are the best engines Ford ever built in my opinion.

The 4.3l v6 in s-10s and GMC jimmys and blazers, now that one can take some damage. My friend owned a 98 Jimmy we put 70k of just punishment into that thing had the tranny replaced once the rear end 3 times, the supension was shot we even wired a leaf blower to the intake to act as a supercharger. How did we run the wires to the switch inside, by drilling though the floor boards, anyway you may laugh at the leaf blower but it was a GMC jimmy that could break the tires loose at the 30 roll. when the rear end would blow we would just put it in 2 wheel and have a front wheel drive Jimmy. He even got mad at some kid while we were racing and started rear ending his car, while me and my friend travis threw the old broken rear end gears out the window at the kids car. Good TIMES

I agree you gotta give respect where it is due and I have to say that the Cobra is a freakin beast. Would I trade my F-body for it hell no...over my dead body, if I could afford a Cobra I would buy one but that would mean I will have to pass up the Zo6 or the Corvette SS which'll be out in 2 or so years which I don't see myself doing. But the article mentioned that any mod to the Cobra will respond great. Fuck yea it better respond gread there's a fucking supercharger under the hood. Thats the only reason the Cobra is what it is today. Strip that superchager off and that car will feel the same way a 13 year old boy would if someone dropped his pants in a classroom full of people. I wonder if GM has anything in the works to compete with the Cobra besides the obvious Corvette. I do think GM will come out with a supercharger off the line one of these days. It'll be just like back in the day when the competition was Ci but now I think it'll be who's got the better blower. Can't wait. Just my 2 cents.
