I just picked up a t/a a little over a week ago. It has 38k miles on it and it still has the new car smell. How can I keep that smell? I am keeping it really clean and I vaccume and dust it once a week. But I did this with my 98 camaro also and It didn't smell bad but it definatly didn't have the new car smell. So is there anything I can do to keep that smell other than just keep the car clean?:fart:

After detailing my interior, I spray "febreez auto".
Always spray more than you think you need and then leave the windows cracked to let some fresh air mix in with it.

Yeah, but that stuff really doesn't have that new car smell. Maybe I should be more specific, my car does have leather interior. And that is a totally differant "new car smell" than cars with cloth interior.

I have seen "leather scent" air sprays and trees.
But heres what I would do...
Do not eat in the car.
Dont sit in it if your all sweaty.
Dont leave the windows open in the rain.
Dont smoke.
dont leave old clothes youve warn on the back seat or floor.
keep a plastic grocery bag handy for any trash.
vacuum regularly.
wipe down stuff that you "touch" regularly (steering wheel, shifter, stereo)
Dont let your friends who always smell bad ride in the car. (you know who they are, lol)

I already do all of that stuff. Not only with this car but with all of the cars I have had in the past. except wiping everything I touch. I just clean the interior once a week. But will that keep the new car smell?

The car is 9 years old. So somebody has figured out how to keep it smelling new all of these years.

That doesn't last long. I think Griot's is much better
In fact, most of the stuff sold as a "new car smell" don't last long
This is probably a better choice, since it's highly concentrated...

the detailer at work said its probally the leather conditioner or carpet cleaner used. But there is no "scent" or "freshener" used to make it smell like new car.

I think you are right. Now that I think about it, the car does smell like leather. I guess I will try that z10 stuff. Thanks.

You won't be sorry..........
I am thinking about trying the Z-10 stuff but after reading the directions I am a bit skeptical. Any product that you simply "spray on and let dry", always makes me skeptical. If you simpy spray something on without wiping even a little bit, all of the invisible dirt buildup is just geting soaked with solvent and then allowed to dry?? Is this stuff intended for use, after you clean your leather seats??

No spraying on with Z10. Its a wipe on product. If the leather is a little dirty use Z9 witch is a cleaner before applying Z10.
