I was headed home saturday running about 80 on the interstate when I catch up to a 2000 or so Lightening cruising in the slow lane. I get next to the guy and he's not too old so I give him a wave. Next thing I know, the monster is suckin' air and shooting out ahead of me. He lets off, taps the breaks and floors it again when I get next to him. I floor it and leave it in 4th, but let off for a fraction of a second when I remember my dad is with me, but get back into it when I realize he's yelling "Go, go, go". He's got about a length on me, but I was reeling him in pretty fast. We hit a 100 pretty fast and he lets off with me at the back of his cab and still pulling really hard on him. A few more seconds and I'd a had him even though I never downshifted. I was really impressed though and had a good time.:)

I'm running the original 327, but have hopped it up quite a bit. It's got 10.5 KB pistons, 3/4 cam, double hump heads with stainless valves and roller rockers, weiand med. rise intake with a 650 Edelbrock, and Mallory ignition. Pushing it all through an
M21 and a 10-bolt with 3.08's. I've ordered 3.73's though. What look you going for. I went for the 60's drag look with traction bars, Cragars, and old school speed stickers in the back windows. I plan on taking some pics and I'll send you some if you give me your email.

i've got the original 327 also. i'm puttin a weiand stealth intake with a 670 holley street avenger and a crane xr-1 points conversion kit on it. Its still got the stock 10 bolt with a 4 speed muncie, it used to have a 3 speed. My dad rebuilt it way back when and then it sort of ended up retireing. the engine has flat top pistons and my dad said he put a crane fireball 500 cam in? right now it has a rinky dink 2 barrell and intake on it and could use an uplift, but even with the current set up it can still kick an older stangs ass. i've also got more project cars including a '67 camaro, '68 camaro, and 2 '81z28s. i've got my hands full. as for the '69 i kind of want to stay the same as it is as for appearance, it is lemans blue with white stripes and an ss hood on it, it has old 14 inch american racing wheels that are similar to the torq thrust. ill post some pics.

Dude, you just described my car to a T. It was an original 3 speed too, but it is a bit more hot rodded than yours. Now if I can just figure out how to post pics.

Thats pretty awesome, if you go to manage attachments a little lower on the screen when you post a quote that will get you in the right direction. Just curious of what my '69 is capable of doing, what does your car run at the track?
