I dont know when I was stock I got beat by a bolton ws6, he had full exhaust and headers and intake. I was stock down to the paper filter, and he pulled me about 1 car but I had 2 friends with me totalling probably 400 lbs. Stock for stock a 03/04 cobra ios quicker than a ls1. However with mods who knows?

well then, you have used a common trick for racer by using a smaller tire to increase your gear ratio. Its misleading to say you are running "stock gears" because you have increase your gear ratio with the tires you are running.

That is a pet peeve of mine to say I have stock gears but run a smaller tire. Its very misleading, which is why I like to run my car on street tires.

the 26- 10.5 is as tall as my street tires stock gears are stock gears,going to put some 4.56 gear in then i will cross the 1/4 in 4 gear at 7k,96-98 b- heads like to rev gear is a :yup: most looking for 12.1-11.9 with just bolt ons

I have only been beaten by 1 yes that is right 1 cobra. It was a 98 and he only beat me cause he had to use a 150 shot of nitrous. I repeat aint no stock mustang or cobra gonna smoke my WS6, sorry to bust on all you ford drivers but atleast they circled the problem for ya. I laugh everytime one wants to race, I look at them and shake my head just like I do at the riceburners. Aint wasting my fuel on any mustangs any more. :spank2:

It's like this...since gas is expensive, you have to judge how much throttle it will take to smoke your opponent. You can smoke some cars and never shift past 2500 RPM. :lmao:

incorrect. The stock rim and tire is 28 inches. Lowering it down to a 26 inch tire/rim combo is like putting a 3.73 rear gear into the diff in the back. I have multiple rear axle and gear excel spreadsheets if you would like proof.

How come Ford can't make an all motor supercar? The GT is great car but it basically has the blown 5.4 from the Lightening. And the Viper is all motor but it needs 2 more cylinders than the LS7 to make less power.

Best heads out there as far as what...from the factory? There's plenty of aftermarket heads that out flow the gt heads....go check out some AFR's.

you are referring to stock, I could careless what a stock head flows. I wouldnt leave the head untouched.

there wouldnt be any reason to spend the money on the GT head when you can port out any of the DOHC head and get better performance. Im running Comp cams with a .020 over pistons

incorrect again, the stock shortblock of a ls1 will not be able to handle the same power a Cobra engine would. Ls1's have 346 cubic inches and a Cobra has a 281cu in with a blower.

of course when the ls1 becomes fully built it can handle more, but so could the cobra once you put better parts in and changed clearances for more of a race engine. And there hasnt been very many stock ls1s dominating any 03-04 engine, not sure where that internet BS came from. There was a post on ls2.com of a turbo charged stock shortblock ls1 getting pulled by a bolt on 03-04 cobra.That turbo sure flows a lot more air than the Eaton on the cobra. Even with 346 cubic inch engine, it still got pulled

None of them are a 28" tire.
In fact, in many cases you'd need to trim the rear wheelwell lip to even fit a 28" tire on a Mustang.

You are 100% right. I went through enough rear tires on my turbocharged 99 GT to fill a dumpster. The stock height with 17" wheels was 25.68. I had the 245/45, 275/40 & 315/35 and they were all the same height.

I looked over my excel spread sheet and I was wrong. I dont know why my formula for the diameter of the wheel tire/combo was taken out. I measured my 17 inch 255 tires at home and its right or a tad less than 26 inches. I dont know what the fuck I was thinking

but back to the arguement, a cobra will redline at 7k for a mph of around 120. I dont see how it will be redlining going through the traps yet only be trapping 110. Usually the trap speed is only a bit off of the speed you go through the lights at, not 10mph off.

Anyway, I have been a GM fan for over 25 years and driving them for 17 years, but still respect other fast cars. My GT ran 10s on pump gas and had no problem dealing with any local LS1s on a regular basis. I'm glad I bought more of a neutral car this time and with the upgrades I just made, look forward to handing out more beatings.

one of the guys i cruise around with just sold one of his supras and bought an 04 cobra with a KB blower...527 to the wheels or something like that. it's out of comission right now since he just blew 3 pistons. come spring we want to make some runs..his KB cobra against my heads/cam and nitrous(planned winter mod). the guy who ownes the shop where i get the work done on the SS also said he would like to look into some custom ground cams that he thinks would work really well with the heads we just put on.

that being said...it's true what you posted...KB cobras are nothing to be taken lightly :no:

Damn that sucks for him and his wallet. He must have had an awfully bad tune to break forged pistons at 527 rwhp.

It was funny when I had my 99 GT, most of the guys I would hang with owned 98-00 Z28s. They were definitely cool guys to say the least. One of them had an 00SS auto that had a protorque converter and a few other bolt-ons, but after he did the heads & cam, the car was real fast. I couldn't believe what a difference it made.

527? that is pretty weak for KB cobra. Blew a piston? Who tuned the car? It should be rin the 600rwhp range.

Where do you run the 1/8 mile at ? We can run the cars at the track if you like that way the other people can see the times. plus there is a tree ,and a finish line

Do you honestly think you are inventing the wheel with that comment? :tired: It's hard to make the same power N/A with an engine 65 ci apart. FI is a very efficient way to make power with less cubes. Are you upset that GM put a turbo on the GN, GNX, Syclone, Typhoon & Turbo Trans Ams?
