View Full Version : Haze/Residue from wheel cleaners?

I have polished aluminum Borbet Type Ts. Everytime I want them to shine, I basically have to wipe them off using a rag versus a spray and spray off deal. Doesnt take too long and it gets the job done, so who cares.

Anyway, I usually use simple green as it does the job like a mofo, but if I have the stuff, Ill use a specific wheel cleaner. With simple green, I dont have to apply as much as a wheel cleaner, but I think the simple green might be leaving some sort of chalkish haze on my wheels.

The only time my wheels have a good shine to them is when I rinse them...when they dry, theres a damn haze!

What should I do?

Simple Green can be (is) very corrosive to aluminum parts if not diluted enough.Dilute at least 10:1. And get it off as quickly as possible on aluminum or chrome and never leave it dry.

Does this mean my wheels are fucked?

They dont appear to be screwed...its just haze. Polish coming off?

you just need some aluminum polish. it will get rid of all the haze.
