Hey Everybody-
I'm picking up an 01 Tahoe tomorrow or friday with the 5.3L motor. I don't need ridiculous power (that's why I have my Buick) but I will probably want to give it a couple bolt ons for a little more kick. What are the "standard" bolt ons for these motors? I've been out of the n/a gig for a while and don't know much about these motors. Thanks!

I saw a big improvment with the Hypertech programmer but it pings bad unless I run 93. Mass air flow sensor helped the throttle responce. I've seen dynos that show that shortie headers are a waste of money, but I dont know.

i would say programmer or tune and maybe some longtubes and duals cold air tb spacer and that should get ya about 30hp

Gibson shorty headers, MagnaFlow cat-back single, CAI and DiabloSport Predator tune were the first things I did several years ago...performed great...headers and exhaust are still on the truck w/ the ProCharger...use the Predator as a scanner...

How'd the first round of mods affect mileage?

I believe it would've shown p/u a couple mpg if tested in a vacuum...

but of course it's hard to keep your foot out of the radiator after mods...:burnout:
