i see tons of threads about "how do i get more horsepower?" etc...

every other thread on this site has an answer to that question, so how about this one: what kind of mods or adjustments increase throttle response?? i have yet to see anyone ask that yet:nana:

Many of the people on the site have told me that porting your stock throttle body and doing the "bump-stop" mod will increase your throttle response. This makes sense to me as the bump stop mod will now allow the throttle body to open to a full 90*.

I have a six-speed in my 2002 SS and my rear gear swap (from the stock 3.42 to a Motive 3.90) made my car more responsive at pretty much any speed. The higher gear puts you higher up in the power band and I no longer have to wait to get up in the higher part of the power band (4,000 RPM) when I'm running through the gears. This mod has a GREAT seat of the pants effect and the car will feel noticeably faster!

I noticed a huge difference in throttle response after lt headers and Corsa catback install. I already had the bump stop mod and ported heads and no cats and still noticed a difference.

Exhaust and tune. most ppl. don't spend the time to get optimum throttle response - just WOT and steady state idle.

You CAN get these EFI engines to respond as fast as a carby but you gotta spend the time to tune it right. Nothing like that instant torque shear of the car as you rev the engine and it returns fast and safely back to steady idle.
