ok all ..listen to this and give me your input...OK here it goes..I went with my buddy to get a quote on his caprice transmission rebuild at a local AAMCO..the manager said oh were the best trans guys around....blah blah..and he had a late 90's v6 stang with the chinazone special(rim sale)onit...anyhow he said oh my v6 can dust your stock lt1 by 3 cars.....
so i was like what u got...he wouldnt show me under the hood..but was purging his n20 system like oooh...and said it was tuned with a 125 shot....and GET THIS>> DUDE TRIED TO SAY HIS V6 WAS A 2.8L stroker and it makes 350 rwhp without the n20...I called bullshit on him and said well for that money you could get the 4.6l...v8 and he told me they were slow compared to the v6..HE THOUGHT I WAS THE DUMBEST GUY EVER.......
What are we going to do..this guy is blowing fake numbers up my ass and i want to know if its even possible..and how/what would be needed long block wize to make this hp.......thanks

i really can't see any 2.8 V6 making 350rwhp without N20
he was probably just a stock V6 with N20 and was trying to make it sound like he had something special.

I wish i still had my ls1.it would have been a wrap from the 60 ft mark...but once i build and stall my 4l60e it will be time for some bolt ons..and i will be going back>>>mind you my lt1 is all stock except the muffler..

sounds like the kid has a na 4 popper. Those SVO's can be made decently fast for cheap. 12s are easy to get out of those.

I had a buddy who had a merkur xr4ti which is the same engine as the svo and the dude was spanking the shit out of c5's all the time with no effort.........last i heard he was in florida and bought a TA and slapped an sts kit on it, thats what you call an improvement.

Um, there is a dude in Hickory, NC that has an SVO that would suck the paint off your Formula. It has guite a few mods including and intercooler off and Buick GN. But, the engine hasn't been touched other than turbo upgrades. It makes 340 rwhp SAE.

No worries about the guy with the V6 and the 125 shot. Sure it's possible to make these cars relatively fast, however if it's just a bone stock (or close to stock) V6 + the gas, you shouldn't have any trouble with it.

Im with Hutch on that one. And what is this, a pissing contest? 340hp is not a whole lot, granted it is a 4 cyl but im sure it has a huge turbo to put down those kind of numbers. i dont think that it would be all that threatening because of the insane amount of lag and the nonexistent power before boost is produced. Their is a guy around my neck of the woods that has an svo will a huge turbo too. it puts down WAY more than 400hp and he puts it on the back bumper every time he goes to the track. it runs 9s. how much money do you think that took? its cool, but svos aint.....
they are gay. btw the guys name is John Huber, you can google it because he has been in several mags and several racing events i.e world ford challenge

I meant to type they were stroked from factory.
Well the 2.8 camaro was stroked out to the 3.1.
The early grand prix 2.8 stroked to 3.1
Also, the 2.8 was also bored and stroked to a 3.4 for a lot of cars, camaros, fwd gm's.

let me clarify what ive been trying to put across. who would stroke a v6? if you had a 6 cylinder stang or camaro, can you in all honesty say that you would stroke it? there would be no benefit. it would cost double to get it into any real power and then it may be even with the base 8 cylinder option in these vehicles. i looked at what i posted and i came off ignorant in both ways and this was not my intention. i know that factories do this. the 302 and the 351 are the same basic block for example. i know all of that. but im asking, who would stroke THEIR domestic v6? it makes absoluteley no sense. and please no "i would do it to be different". like i said in another thread, you can get your cock pierced if you wanna be different.....

Correct - though to be more correct, the 351 has a taller deck height than a 302, so the blocks themselves are not interchangeable (ie...you can't bore/stroke a 302 to get a 351 its a different block, but it is possible to do that with a GM 305 and get a 350, as an example).

The guy you are talkng about probably don't know what he is talking about. If it isn't sounding like its going to cut off theres no way he has 350 N/A. And its also doubtful he has a 125 shot unless he had it custom made. The highest V6 kit I've ever seen was 75hp. So unless his engine is fully built the 125 would blow it apart. Just tell him to run for $ and see what he says. He will either say this and that is wrong or go. If he goes watch out.
Weren't the SVO's designed for circle tracks? Hence why they make good high RPM power for comming out of curves. From a higher gear roll I think they equaled the V8 stangs and could out handle them hands down.
I know alot of people stroke V6's but mostly on vehicles designed on a v6 platform such as a GN or SY/TY. GM even makes a V6 that shares all the architecture of the SB2. If I am not mistaking it puts out like 400 N/A that they use for some kind of racing circut. In which it makes perfect sense. Some people just dare to be different I guess.
Kenny Brown also does alot of V6 packages for V6 mustangs that beat the V8 brethren with S/C and Turbos I think. Mod for mod or money spent though is a different ball of wax. Wasn't there also a TT V6 mustang that participated and actually qualified for this years PGD? A v6 might not be my cup of tea but some do. Only V6er I want is a Syclone :firedevil: .
After doing some research GM's high feature V6 made 1700 hp using TT with alot of factory parts.
