Well I'm finishing up a customers 67 Camaro right now with a stroker 383 w/IronEagle Dart heads and a Richmond 6 speed. I put a Lakewood scatter shield for his piece of mind with a Mcloud clutch. Anyways the shifter is NO where near where it needs to be!!! Has anyone encountered the same issues.....?

I got a shifter from Long Machine that kicks over and moves the handle CLOSE to the stock location. It was still off about 2". So I ended up having to cut the tunnel after all. Which sucked just because it was a stock clutch car with factory hole. After cutting out a square I ran into issues with the reverse arm hitting the side of the tunnel so out came the mini sledge. Post a little massaging the floor NO MORE ISSUES!!!

Heres a couple of pics.

Now I have to finish the Vintage Air kit. NOT A GOOD KIT!!! NEVER BUY ONE AGAIN!!!:cuss:

I have a T56 in my 67, and the shifter was a couple inches further back also.
So a hole had to be cut. I did not mind, minor sacrifice for a great tranny!

Yeah I also did one a couple years back with a T-56. I must say it's NIGHT and DAY difference power shifting the T-56 and power shifting the Richmond-6!!
The Richmond feels SOO much better and in my opinion offers much better choices on ratios. But on the other hand you can come across the T-56's ALOT cheaper.

What did you do on your tranny crossmember? We used ChassisEngineering double tubular deal. Very nice came poweder coated and has billet mounts on the ends that had helicoils in them for frame mounting holes.
