01 SS M6 v.s 96 cobra M6

I have a camaro SS and have a friend who own a mustang he is 100 % sure that my SS has the same performance as his friends cobra and that maybe the cobra might beat me:zzz:
I think its bull shit.. didnt 96's cobras come with 320 hp right?the stock hp isnt that diff. but isnt the ls1 have better top end:thinkin: and yes I know the cobra is lighter than me...
well I am going to race this guy for fun and find out. I want to to it before I get my LT's, cam and 4:10's...

anyone know how this race will turn out?

`96 Cobra's are rated at 305 HP, and only have a 5spd Trans and 3.27 axle
It might be even through first But after you get to second the race will be over.

I beat a '96 Cobra M6 and I was stock, the guy had the catback done on the Cobra. beat it from a dig upto 80mi/hr like 2 car lengths.

My 94 6spd Z28 with just a flowmaster and K&N would pull on the 96-01 Cobras, 1 even with gears on the highway. They run high 13's and trap a little over 100. They might give an early auto base LS1 F-bod a run for it's money but not a late 6spd SS.:hi:

i have ran a kid down the street from me twice. once in his 96 cobra and once in his new 01 cobra. both of his and mine is stock but they have k&n and exhuast. both of his has magnaflow and mine has 3" stainless works. all three cars are manuals. i killed him hands down! dude you got nothing to fear. you got more on your car than mine. i say take a little cash from him when you run!

I used to race a friend of mine who had a 98 Cobra vert with headers. I'd get him in 3rd gear. All I can say is don't spin at launch. It can be tuff to catch a good driver. You should get him so congrats in advance.

cool... first kill will be the 96 cobra.. and next will be his bros. 03 stock vert cobra. I know....I know...they are faster. I know everything about the 03 cobra vs ls1 deal. when I do race the 03 vert. I will cams, 410's and lt's and a nice tune... how do you guys think I'll do???

against a 100 percent stock vert? NOT likely itll be 100 percent stock...most at least have a blower pully....but IF it is stock you shouldnt have much trouble with those mods.....youll be close to 400 rwhp with 3400lbs vs his 360-370 rwhp and 3700lbs ...IF he had JUST a pully,tune,intake it would be a dam good race.....should put him in the low 400s ..430-440 ...100lbs equalying 10 horse that puts u 2 dead even..have fun

A stock 03-04 Cobra vert is a high 12-low 13 sec car with traps around 110.

You should be able to beat him on the street with the mods you already have....he'll still probably pull you on the highway though.

I just raced a 99-04 gt right afteer work. guy looked like a bus. guy so I thought he wouldnt go, but he actually got on it. we pull up to a red light. My traction control was off so I disabled it when I looked up light was green. he take off I try to react fast and pulled the clutch out a bit fast:sillyme: . I spined 1st and a bit of 2nd. but when I hooked I pulled agood 3-4 cars on him. we went again from a dead stop and spanked him eaven harder. I got a good jump and hooked. I beat him hands down.LOL:woo: ... he was pretty cool about it. when he pulled up he asked me if my car was supercharged:lmao: he asked me what I had... I said an LS1..LOL. I really want to race a new GT w/ the same mods as me:naughty: .

a Cobra Vert is about .2 second slower than a coupe because of extra weight and worse aerodynamics. Your mods might have knocked off around .4. In a short race I bet you''l take it!:burnout:
