on a more serious note I have the SLP flopac and I did notice a big difference in peformance. especially in the upper rpm's. my car pulled a little harder . plus i could hear the intake noise. i dont know how much power it added but i did feel it. small but it was there. oh i didnt seal mine either

Ive had the FTRA for about a year and a half and saw a decent increase in throttle respondse. I see the difference high in the rpms also, especially once i hit about 65 MPH. Just my .02 cents

so the front is still open? you have a Z right? so you dont have ram air. would it be more benificial to seal the ram air off on an SS or to leave it open and functional. i wouldnt see why the more air that can get in the better right?

The point of the seal, is to prevent the air that is being pushed up towards the intake not to flow out the front. It is supposed to keep it "pressurized".

I have no dyno numbers to prove anything but i feel that the more air in the better. i really dont think there is going to be that much air pressurized up the ram air piece anyways its pretty much just to give the intake cooler air from outside of the engine bay. But if anyone that has sealed the box says it works then i might try sealing it. but as for now im gonna keep the seal open

I did the free version of the FTRA... just cutting the plastic open but not installing the fancy sheetmetal box. I didn't notice anything, and now I have the problem that if I hit a huge water puddle or something in the rain, I get a little water sucked up on the filter and the engine spits and stutters for a few seconds... not good!. :brick: Because of this I'm in the process of un-doing this mod. lol
