Nevermind, ended up buying a White 99 Z28 with only 27k miles in a hell of a lot better condition! :) My bad for the screwed up thread.

It's an A4, bone stock with 52k miles on it. It seems very healthy, I wish I could have found one that was M6, but this one is in such great condition and I got a great deal on it. But, getting to the point:

What are the "free" mod's you can do with it?

Also, where to find a WS6 hood?

Any advice is great. Also, anyone know what the "average" life span the A4 (transmission) has if properly taken care of? (Looking for more of an excuse to swap in an M6, if possible.

Thanks,

Grant

Well, what would you want for it?

There are three mods that I believe are a must for any f-body:
1. Air lid- gets more air into the motor
2. Catback exhaust- gets more air out of the motor, gives a good sound
3. Subframe connectors- connects front and rear subframe, prevents/minimizes t-top leaks, dash rattles, etc., also helps wight transfer during acceleration

All air lids are the same, so get whatever one you can find cheapest. The big difference in catback systems is the sound. They all perform roughly the same, with the exception of Flowmaster, which I would avoid. Borla and GMMG are great systems, but pricey ($700-800). Magnaflow and SLP's Loudmouth II are great flowing systems that are more towards the budget end of the spectrum ($400). Subframe connector choices are pretty different. There are boxed, tubular, and diamond shaped. Personally, I'm not a fan of the diamond ones, I think they're overrated. Boxed connectors provide the best torsional rigidity, but can compromise ground clearance if your car is lowered. Tubular connectors provide great rigidity, and tuck up under the car pretty well so they don't compromise clearance as much.

First mod should be 3.73's. That will wake the car up.

Thanks group. Appreciate the help.

Are the gear swap's similar to the 8.8 cost's of a mustang, etc?

You will have about 5-6 hundred in a gear swap unless you have someone who can do it.

Damn... Nice price on the hood & the Borla. If I still had a Firebird, I would be all over it.

Would the borla fit on a 99 Z28?

Why are you taking apart your T/A and selling mods?

dont care for the hood or the exhaust - bought a firehawk hood - car has slp chrome wheels on it - firehawk clone? works for me - dont care for the borla look either , no other mods wanted .
