Thanx, but I don't understand what it does. It says use in place as a top coat? Clear coat sealer, I don't get it? PLEASE explain.

Perhaps the news story will help more.

No, it doesn't help more. You apply it over wax? The bottle is way to small to do a whole car? Can someone explain it better than Mr. Zaino?

I have not used it yet but based on what I read, it looks to me like it is mean't to go over the polish to help protect it and also provide a nice shine to the finish. The purpose of CS is to improve the longevity and durability of an already pretty durable car polish.

They really skimmed ya on the quantity!

How much is supposed to be applied to an entire car? The same can be said about Z-2, Z-3 and Z-5 if you apply is like you would a wax.

There's nothing wrong with asking. That's how you learn. :)

A true sealer should be used after a glaze, but before a wax, a handful of people don't bother with wax, they just use a boutique glaze and a boutique sealer and that's it. 24 hrs should be allowed between all three for true curing, though some sealers will say 12 hours, I like to make sure and go 24.

I use Klasse glaze, Wolfgang sealer and Pinnacle Soveran wax

Let's put it this way, I have done this combo to a black 94 Formula, that I owned, and my next door neighbors black vette and to date have only seen 2 cars that had as good a wetness and shine, and that was on the internet. I have never seen in person a car with the wetness, depth and shine that our cars had after doing it.

Please keep in mind, both cars were prepped extremely well, each car took several weeks to prepare before any glaze, sealant or wax was used, washed several times, then clayed, then polished with a random orbital buffer, removing all the swirls, using Menzerna intensive polish and their finishing polish first. THEN these were applied and each coat allowed to dry a full 24hrs, before the next. Results? Jaw dropping.

Wish I had taken pics, but when it came time to sell her, it didn't take long...lol

One could probably only get better results using a high speed rotary buffer first, to actually remove all defects, but you better know how to use one before attempting it, a random orbital doesn't actually remove clearcoat, it polishes the edges of swirl marks and surface scratches so that they can no longer be seen by the naked eye. Neither will remove orange peel, that takes wet sanding.

As far as Klasse glaze, it's a glaze, not a sealer and yet, I was actually crazy enough to put this on my gym's metal weight plates to see if it could help in slowing rust development, lo and behold, I have a Universal Centurion, which has five weight stacks, of the five I used it on two, these are the only two which do not have rust on them to this day, that was applied well over a year ago.

If it will do that for metal, imagine how much your protecting your car from oxidation using the glaze, a sealer and wax!!!

Great!!! If you've never used it before, your gonna be real happy.
Who's pads ya usin and who's wax ya goin wit'?

Dude...with your torch red Z06, you gotta try Pinnacle's Souveran paste wax, it's expensive (90 bucks for a tub) but everyone...I mean EVERYONE that sees your car thereafter will be like "WOW"!!!

Pinnacle's Souveran is unmatched on black, red and dark blue.

I have used a lot of different manufacturers pads, if ya not sure on which pads to get, lemme know, maybe I can steer ya in the right direction.

When you start actually doing your car, keep it in your head, there is nothing too extreme in preparing the paint. Wash it, wash it again...think it's clean? Wash it again. Then clay it, before you clay it, make sure it wasn't sitting out overnight gathering airborne dust either...go over every...every inch of your beloved car.

Then and only then, is it ready for polishing.

Think of it like this, before you paint metal, the metal must be smooth and 100% free of dirt/dust grease of any kind, before you chrome metal the same. Before you glaze, seal and wax, you must get the paint as free of defects as possible and the clearcoat as glossy as possible. When your done, the car will simply look like it's slick and wet all the time, reflections for miles and will literally look like you can step right into it.

It will be "jeweled" just like a diamond, reflecting light in all directions, yet looking like it's wet, yet giving off mirror reflections...detailers Nirvana.

Right now, I have just completed stage II of Pinnacle's 3 step polishing system (trying Pinnacle's XMT polishing system on this car) and there hasn't been a person yet, who when I tell it has no wax on it, that doesn't say, "Yea, right"
They don't believe it now? They ain't seen nuthin yet.

{FzS}BlacKMagicK; I've got some Sonus green, and blue pads to work my menzerna with. I'd love to get some PS Wax, but I've spent too much money in products lately. I'm looking at some Natty's, or CG50-50 for waxes as well. I also have some meguiars 26 wax. But my favorite sealant is RejeX, and I also have AJT Sealant to try
I have my Clay Magic ready to go. I just need some 60 degree weather to get going :)

After initially reading this post I've have been on the zaino site a lot lately, figuring out what all their products do. I have never used any zaino products in the past and i think i wanna start out w/ Z AIO, Z 5, and then sealing in the beauty w/ Z 6. How does this sound to thhose of u out there w/ zaino experience? Also, do u guys wax afterword of just use the zaino sealing products?

I'll try to help out on this.

I never used Z- AIO but thats its purpose to prep and clean the surface of the paint before applying any of their sealants. I prep with something else (Z1 alone first or ZFX added to their sealant) then apply Z2 or Z5. Just remember that Z2 or Z5 must be applied to a perfect surface. Those by themselfs will not clear up any inperfections. Z5 claims to but that could be debateable.

Z6 is used primarily as a cleaner or a maintainer (removing dust and very lite dirt). I use this all the time. Excellent stuff. Keeps the shine going and helps keep the paint feeling smooth.

Z8 is used for that little extra pop. Improves the shine and acts as a" spray on sealant "over top of your Z2 or Z5.
Adds alittle more longevity.

Hope I helped and not confused anyone.............:eat:

Thanks that helped a lot. So, then Z 8 is the one to use to top it off, not z 6 as i had thought.

Sonus are great pads, I'd stick with 'em. Of the three waxes you've mentioned...definitely go with the Natty's.

Sucks having to wait for warmer weather, well, gives ya more time to plan and setup exactly how your gonna go at it.

When fisherman can't go to sea...they mend their nets, I always say.

Both do the same thing as far as shine goes, but Z8 lasts longer. And it does. Its a spray- on sealant. Z8 isnt something you would use to lighty clean or remove dust.
Some say Z8 has more shine or pop. I can't say I see that.
Z6 is one of the better detailers out there.............

I was thinking about getting the zaino package deal for like $85.00. The 1 that comes w/ ZFX, Z2, Z5, Z6, Z7, and claybar. So I was trying to see if the z6 is the way to go, and now i think it is. So i will prob. get this package.

That is how I would start. Remember to wash the car with Dawn first to remove whatever wax and other buildup is already on the car, then claybar any thing else that will not come out. And when you are done with the process, keep using it, it only gets better. And never wax again. Your finish should look like this....
