I'm looking at a used set of headers that are cheap but a little rusted. I'm wondering if I can blast 'em and either chrome or powdercoat them. I know chrome will discolor after a while, will powdercoating hold up? I'd prefer stainless but if I can get these cheap and chromed I'll be happy.

Old hot rods used chrome ones. And plenty of motorcycles had chrome pipes. They turn blue after a while.

Ceramic coat them. Certainly the best option available. Ceramic coating keeps down about 40% of the heat and can be done in a chrome/polished finish.

Horrible picture, but these headers were rusty and we blasted them and had them ceramic coated.

Ceramic Coated is the best! Air Born coating is the best. I have had thousands of dollars worth of exhaust products ceramic coated by them. Tony Stewart & Bobby Labonte (NASCAR) use them. Air Born is located in South Carolina. Here is their link http://www.airborncoatings.com/homepage.html
