Not surprising that I pulled on him, just surprising that I pulled so hard.

I was just headed to the movie theater with the girlfriend in the car, and a 300C with SRT-8 badges pulls up next to me. I'd like to say it had exhaust, because it was rather loud, but I don't know what they've got stock... none the less, I glanced over at him, but wasn't trying to pick a fight, and then he starts jumping on it, then nailing the brakes, so eventually I give him a little confirmation rev, and when the light turns green, I used my head and babied it. He nailed it and spun, but pulled a car or so, and right at the top of 1st, I dropped the throttle. Zooooom. :flex: It made me smile. I know the height of these tires is slowing me down, but man it's nice being able to really get on it in first gear with no tire prep! I slowed down thinking he'd catch up and we'd go again from a higher roll, but he just pulled the ol' fly by, and I wasn't going to go chase down what I just dominated. I didn't think too much of it, other than that I just embarrassed some kid whose parents bought him a 40k car, but then I looked up the specs, and they're supposed to be good for mid 12s stock. Granted I don't race enough cars that I know they're est. 1/4s, but I would'nt have suspected that an 11 sec car would pull so hard on a 12 sec car... silly me I guess.

Too bad I didn't have the bottle in the car...

Not if you're a stock LS-1.

They run high 12s under ideal conditions and 60fts. Figure it's a low 13sec car on average w/ 108-110mph trap speeds. If you run 11s, no contest whatsoever.

I work at a MoPar dealership now, and those SRT-8s are fast as hell for 4200+ lb cars.

Not a bad kill.

The exhaust they have stock is bad ass. I cranked one up and let it idle and a guy thought the sound of it was the sound system.

The Charger is 4200lbs fully optioned with a full tank of gas.

I know what you mean about the exhaust - it's got this really DEEP hum to it. Pretty cool.

One of my buddies bought an 06 300C with the 6.1L Hemi. 425hp at the flywheel. Can't crack the PCM but he did a custom header and true dual with an X-pipe exhaust and added a 150 wet shot to it. Turned a 12.64 @ Speed World late last year. Also discovered the 1st weak like - Half shafts! He broke one on the last launch. He's having a much stronger set made for him.

I tell ya, I'm keeping the 2002 Z28 I have, but if the 09 is in any way disapointing I'll be taking a hard look at the Challenger.

went to mopars at the strip last weekend in vegas and and they had the new challenger there, of course it was in full race form, no back seats, roll cage etc. and had a 392 hemi crate in it, but the body was left stock, it wasn't even painted yet, it was primered black, but damn it looked good.

Cool. It should be at Sears in June? for the Mopar NHRA event. The same car (or 2nd car) was painted in patriotic colors at the SEMA show.
