You'll want to look to SLP for your SS info as ASC had absolutely nothing to do with Camaros.

I don't have the #. I can tell you though, if the WS6 emblem is on the left side, that was not how it came from the factory. ASC put them on the right side right below the brake light. You can also check under the hood for the raised airbox to be sure. The regular TA/CamaroZ28/SS air box has about a half inch opening. The WS6 has an inch to inch an a half. I can stick my hand into the slot on the WS6 where as I can't even get a finger under the regular one.

OK, I have my flame suit on.... :uzi:
I should be searching on this, but what the hell......

I am a new WS6 owner.... I have had SS Camaro's. I know how the SS and Firehawk's go from GM to SLP. How does the GM - ASC interface work? Was there different options like SLP had?

Just curious..... thanks!

All WS6's were created equal as far as ASC is concerned. You may have had different options from the factory such as Hurst shifter, T/C, 6 disc changer, 98's had single exhaust, and so forth, but all options from ASC were standard.

No way to know as all the #'s aren't available. Even if they were, I would say GM would be the only real reliable source for that type of information as record keeping for any year TA or WS6 from anyone other than GM has a chance of being erroneous.

Very cool. Spoiler, shocks, hood, wheels, right? I wonder why GM didn't do it instead of ASC?

Spoiler is same on all Trans Ams from the factory. Wheels, hood, raised air box, exhaust, and some suspension component (<---suspension components are still up for debate) all came from ASC. No idea why GM didn't do it, but I suspect it saved us some money as all those components from GM probably would have been more than the $2xxx ASC charged for them and labor.

No breakdowns are available. Your conversion date is NOT your born on date, it was the day your WS6 went through ASC for conversion.

I just bought one but dont know if its a WS6 or not because there are no emblems on it and the hood is aftermarket but i read in an earlier post of yours that you said one way of checking is that the Air lid of a regular firebird only has a half inch of clearance for your finger whereas the WS6 you can fit your finger in.

Well.... i can fit my fingers in (air intake of course) there is about an inch and a half of clearance. So could you tell me if i have a WS6 please?
Thank you!!!

Well I wasn't able to find your info. This doesn't necessarily mean it's not a WS6. You can check your driver door sticker for the "WS6" RPO code to verify that way. Also double check your vin for me and PM ME if there are any changes. Thanks.

I just checked my RPO and there is no WS6 in there....therefore it is not a WS6, so with that said i wonder why the lid has such an open front where i can fit my fingers?
hmm..oh well, i love my Trans Am, had i found out it was a WS6 it just would've been a big bonus.
I really appreciate you checking up on it though!!
thanks!!!!

I think I at least found a way to get a window sticker..... I have a friend at a GM dealership and I took him my VIN. He input it into the system and said they were able to order it. Well, let me put it this way.... the system didn't kick it out, so he is assuming it took the order!!

I will let you know!

Seeing as how my car had a full body repaint (dunno why, nothing was in carfax about it) I didn't have a door sticker with RPO codes. I got paranoid (even though I had WS6 badging and everything on my car) and went to the local Pontiac service department. Asked the guy if there was a way to find out and he puched in the VIN and it spit out a spec sheet. Awesome. So my advice is go and check your Pontiac dealer and go to the service department.

I have an 01 its all black on black...stock had nothing done to it at all atleast the way I got it...it has 112,000mi when I got it a month ago and I put msd plug wires on it,slp lid, with mac filter, and a hooker aerochamber muffler, and its got a 6 spd...I ran it at the track last week and it went 13.08 on my first run, I was hoping for 13.50's with that many miles, so im excited, i'd like to know more about this car.....I want to know how rare it is or if its something special...it took me a while to find an all black with black emblems, the black WS6's I found all had auto's or had white trans am emblems
