Hi guys I have just traded the 99 Z28 in for a 97 Vette A4 Coupe, car has some nice extras sports seats, magnesium alloys, active handling, performance axle 3.15 gears. I love it, only 54k miles and it drives like a new car no sqeaks rattles or anything. here are some pics the day I got the car home.

Thanks Guys, the side markers are standard as far as I know. There are plenty of Americam import Vetts here aswell. It was just my luck to get another European model car.

My Z28 was a European model also with Euro back lights and those hidious high intensity fog lights. The deal I got was to good to pass up as the guy took my Z28 as a Tarde in and offered me the same money I had paid for it 18 months ago when I bought it. I did get it for a good price then so I went for it.

I don't like the Euro lights either but you can't always pic these things when your buying secondhand. Silver was not my first choice of color but it looks good and the mileage was low and it drives like new so again I went for it!

Cheers Andy

Thanks for the welcomes guys.

I have finally completed the transfer of my personalised number plate.
I have started to add a few apperance mods red Corvette lettering and an exhaust plate.
I am only doing appearance mods to this car. As I wasted a lot of time and money and effort modding my last 2 Z28s
Once you've done headers a few times and stall you guys no what I mean, I hate to admit it but I'm getting to old to be crawling under cars for hours on end, I can't see the attraction anymore.

I have just fitted a flush tail light kit

Here is something you don't get on the USA model, The speedo goes upto 300mph, or you can press the E/M button on the DIC control and go kph which is also 300. We are still MPH in the UK despite pressure to go metric form the European commom market!

I have just finished doing the painted bezels mod.

I used this info on how to take the gauge cluster out:

http://www.thelapd.com/bezel.htm

And this one on how to paint them:

http://joshker99.home.comcast.net/paintedbezels.htm

You do need a steady hand but it was quite easy to do. It took about 2 hours from start to finish. Most of that is taking the gauges out and put them back. About 1/2 hour tp do the painting.

I used a UNI paint marker, metellic permant ink. It's looks just like paint as it goes on and drys very quick.

I got the same sort of effect that Josh got when he did his the dash lights glow a sort of bluey purple around the gauges. Looks great for a $5 mod. The paint pen is made by Mitsubishi. I only noticed this after I finished the job. Does this make it a ricers mod!

This pic is a bit shakey but you can see the bluey glow around the fuel gauge.

Thanks to these guys for giving me the confidence to pull my cluster apart and do the mod.
Hopefully this will give others the confidence to do their gauges and save themselves $75!

Thanks, yes the 300mph speedo is only for the European model. The UK is still MPH and the rest of Europe is KPH. We are holding out!

When I posted on Corvette Forum that I had a 300mph speedo a lot of them still didn't believe it even though I posted pics aswell. It must be because the USA one only goes to 200mph. They kept saying that will be 300kph then! No you press the English/metric button on the DIC and it goes 300mph.

cheers Andy
