Hey guys,

I am currently considering an addition to the family and have found a '02 convertible with 500 km and have only one question before I buy. What is the convertible SS governed at, if any different than a hardtop or t-top; I was told convertibles are governed @ 112 mph. Hope I was told wrong. Thanks!!

I remember doing 140 MPH in my previous SS vert bone stock down to the Fram filter.

Only Z/28's were governed back in the day before RSA's became Z rated. You used to have to get the GSA's to not get limited. no 02's are governed.

Early model 4th gen 'verts were governed but I do not believe that any of the LS1 cars that came with Z rated tires were.

Doesn't matter anyway. Don't let the top speed dictate whether you buy the car or not. There is much more to the car than that.
I just picked up my 02 SS convertable about 2 months ago, so far I haven't regretted it, although the purchase is still fresh,,,,lol.
Great car though, you'll enjoy it. Larry.

Thats cool. Unfortunately I purchased mine at the wrong time of year. Weather is nasty here with snow and salt everywhere so I haven't gotten to enjoy mine yet. Another month and things should get better. Larry.
