ok i know this is probaly a dumb ? i got a 2000 camaro ss 6 speed when i go down a steep grade i can have the car in fourth and without giving it any gas the car will not go past 50 mph now ive been in other vechiles where the car picks up speed is this normal?

It should be the engine compression holding you back-this is a good thing.The computer will sometimes cut off fuel in this situation- with these cars they are kinda unpredictable and uneven on downshifts and stuff so watch it.

The F-Bodies are a light car with a high compresion motor, so the motor slows the car down a lot. I used to live in Colorado, and my Camaro was the only car I drove that I didn't have to downshift on steep hils to stay off of the brakes.
