back when i had my 94 Z28, with 125 dry shot, flowtech muffler, K/N FIPK, and 1.5 roller rockers went 12.24 @ 113.90. and that was with 2.73 gears to boot. no drag radials, as they weren't available back then. so, it can be done.

Man there really is no love here for these guys. But I understand why. I was on the vw forum, and what a bunch of dumbasses. Ricer punks. They all think that they are big and bad. Well...there's no replacement for displacement. But they dont seem to get that.

Still love my nissan, the only replacement for displacement is technology.

Technology...you mean turbo. My LS1 has plenty of technology. But no turbo. Dont get me wrong, I like the 240's. They are one of the few "ricers" that I actually like and would own. But I love my LS1, and how much torque it has.
Cloud9
03-10-2007, 12:58 AM
Not just turbo but over all, weight, suspension, ect. but yes torque is one thing i cant make tons of but its enough for the size of the car. If i ownd a V8 it would have to be a LSX, great motors.

I could...but that has been done before. If I was going to put an LSx into a "ricer". I would still keep it in the family. I would drop it into a cavalier. I havent seen anyone else do it...do I want to be the first. Yeah I know that its going to be a pain in the ass changing out the driveline. But it would be pretty badass. hey guys, anyways, i do have a four cylinder right now, i aint trying to get flamed right here, but as for now i love my 30 mpg around town, and plan on losing that very quick...
i found me an ls1 with all accessories and tranny, with 44,000 miles on the pair for 2500 bucks. i am going to take a loan out against my s10 and install it...
i am fairly new to all the bolt ons and stuff you can put on an ls1, the main reason is because i have not had the need to... i plan on running the ls1 along with shorty headers, and some minor boltons...
anyways, i dont care to get laughed at for my four banger, but it dont sound like a vacuum cleaner, but it has very little power, which i want to change...
jwindbigler
03-25-2007, 11:24 PM
installuniversity.com will get you started with free mods. (Assuming that you install half the stuff anyway). Why are you going to go with shorty's?? Get a set of pacesetter LT's. Much better with power. From here, just post what you are thinking about buying, and people here will tell you if thats a good product, or we will recommend something better. Good luck with the swap. Post pics while you are doing the swap too.
Hot Black Trans-Am
03-26-2007, 02:56 PM
I've heard with a S10 you can't have full length headers and a manual trans, but you can have them with an auto. V8's in mini-trucks are fun! There's a bad ass reg cab short-box Ranger around here with a very modded 5.0 in it that I want to run. He's got it tubbed and everything. It sounds really good.
Pewter s10
03-26-2007, 03:01 PM
yeah, with an s10, you are limited in what you can use as far as parts, well, without a LOT of fabrication... so shorty headers are a go, and i am thinking that if i seal up the tranny tunnel, then cut a new hole for a shifter, you can put a stick shift into it... idk though, i still got some researching to do.
the main reason i want to do a swap is, i dont want a freakin honda motor in my chevy... plus the underlying reasons of power, as i have read you guys downplaying in a 4cyl for the last 8 pages... lol, and i am fine with that, it is pathetic

I have been reading alot of the threads relating to imports and it makes me laugh just how ignorant some of you are concerning imports. First of all there is a big difference betwwen ricers ( people with oversized wings and fart cans that say things like " my car is the shit yo") and true enthuesist.
Right now i own 92 mr2 turbo that has 260-300whp stock with a boost controller and full 3 in exhaust. i have about $8500 in it. It sounds good, but i will admit it doesnt have that v8 rumble, it looks good, and it will outrun pretty much any stock domestic car in a straight line ( except a c6 z06, a c5 z06 is a really close race-pretty much river dependent, and i have only raced 1 ws-6 and beat him pretty bad but i think the driver was a tool) and it will own on a road coarse well now that i have pissed every1 off with my 1st post im going go
