View Full Version : I ran a Ferrari 360 Vert

It was a Red vert with black wheels. We went from a 40 and a dig. The 40 was close with him jumping out by a car and i caught up by 55 and we shut it down at 60 or so with me a fender out. Then from a dig he just sat there spinning and me pulling by a car and then i hit 3rd and pulled a lil more untill about 90 where i had him by maybe 2 cars or a lil less......and before anyone starts flaming i looked up teh times of a 360 and they run 13.0s @108sh. I was about to pee-pee my pants. He was pretty cool and said b4 we raced he couldnt afford any more tickets and then he took off so it was game on!

360 Modena's are definitely faster than that...
They have 400HP and only weight 3197lbs...they run more like low 12's.
I did see a chick at the track with one though, she couldn't drive stick worth a damn, and ran a 16.XX :ughlaugh:

Yea it was a vert and no i didnt spank it, but i beat it. I also raced one of my friends' 02 Z-28s a while ago. But im going out of town in a few mins and dont have access to a computer so i wont be back on until thurs evening

Well this guy was old and the SPECS on the car said 13.0@108 on 3 different sites.......but all i know is that he and i were racing and i came out on top:moon:

I would have to agree with Wesman
Modenas should be in the low 110s in the quarter mile.
To put lengths like that on a roll, you have to be deep in the 12s in the quarter
Perhaps the person in the ferrari was a terrible driver
Regardless, f360s are awesome cars, if I was lucky enough to have one; you could beat me by a bus length, but in my mind, I would have still won.

Modenas should be in the low 110s in the quarter mile.

Agreed. The driver of the Ferrari probably didn't drive the car to its potential, you have to downshift and get the car up into the powerband, which ia round 8K RPM, in order to get the most out of it. He probably just stomped the gas without downshifting and tried to hang, not realizing how quick the SRT-4 can be.
Like you said though, I doubt the guy felt too bad - He's driving a Ferrari, and you're still driving a Neon ;)

Nice C5 by the way, I used to have a 99 FRC a couple of years back. Your decision between and C6 vs a GTS should be based on your purpose for the car. If you plan to daily drive, I would NOT recommend a GTS. Some people do, but the interiors are not anywhere near as user friendly as the vette. Gas milage is horrible, and (in my mind) you seem to lose the Wow factor that a viper brings if everyone sees you in it everyday. I have a few friends with C6s and they are certainly more refined than the C5. Those driving daily would benefit from the improvements. Performance: my stock GTS against my friends (exhaust and vararam) C6; I'm 0.3-0.4 quicker in the quarter, both on stock radials consistently.
If your car is a second, nice weather only, car. Go with the viper, it brings so much attention and picture taking (while parked and also driving). It also gives a nice contrast to your other car because it has character.
Both cars are great and you can't go wrong with either decision

Nice kill, I wish I could run one of those. Too bad you couldn't get up to triple digit speeds where the Modena really shines.

The purpose of the car is a "perfect weather weekend cruiser" just like the Vette is (about 2,000 mi. a year). Gas milage isn't an issue. I just want a stock beast.
Btw, from what I can see, your Viper looks awesome.

I tried to post a pic and an error prompt showed. Given it's going to be a good weather car, I would go with the Viper. There are many choices out there, make sure you choose the one for you. If I didn't get a blue and white, I would have bought an ACR edition. Good hunting

Yea like i said.....we only went to 90 from teh dig race and he was spinning bad off teh line and yes he can get more chics than me(gold diggers) but the point is that he got beat by a DODGE NEON no matter if hes a good driver or not.....if i had that kind of car i would learn to drive it. And as you can see from the specs WESMAN the car isnt fast AT ALL for the price:)

Well they definitely are expensive, but I wouldn't say they aren't worth the money. Its a damn fine looking car, sounds incredible, and its still very fast. Low 12's at 112MPH is nothing to shrug off, thats still impressive performance.

'The 360 isnt low 12s though....the F-430 is but not the 360

um i thought motertrend/car n driver had the 360 at 0-60 in 4 flat and the quarter in low 12s at like 115 ...the 430 ran high 11s at around 120 .....your underestimating these cars whats a 400 horse 3300 lb fbody capable of?? then put the engine in the mid of the car so u get GOBS of traction.......low 12s with a mid 100 teens trap

yeah ferraris are dam expensive.......but there fuckin sweet as hell to....if i were rich id own one for cruising..........and a lingenfelter c6z06 1000hp twin turbo to spank anyone that wanted to talk shit about my ferrari :yup:

i believe ya man...heavily modded srt-4's are disgustin from a roll...i can def see if the modena messed up a lil or didnt drive to its full skill that the srt-4 will take it

i belive ya to stone.....not surprising the rich guy in the 360 obviously didnt know how to drive that thing.....u run low 13s right? ..they also dont have gobs of tq so u definitly have to know how to drive it to get anywhere near low 12s out of it

Yea i think im still in teh 13s trapping about 108ish.....if i had 150k to get a car.......Z06 tehn send it to lingenfelter:yup:

did u click on my ebay link a few up stone??? that car is sooooooo hot.......LPE puts a cam/tune/headers on the c6z06s for around 4500 bucks.....ya pricey but its also piece of mind on your 70k car having them do it ....they claim 616 flywheel horse when there done 70k plus 4500 equals 616 horse z06 .......wish i had 75k to blow..lol . 3100 lb race car with that much horsepower..sick
