Basically was cruising along at a low speed, hit a small bump, cd skipped but song kept playing ok.
Parked at home depot got some parts, came back out turned on car and was playing radio. Thought it was weird so I ejected the CD and put it back in.
It goes in, make some read noises and then spits the CD out with an err message.
Any tips on fixing or am I screwed and have to buy a replacement?

Your CD player just dysfuntionalized. You will pay out the ying yang to have it fixed or replaced just to have it do it again.
Time for the Pioneer DEH-p77. This is the double-din that is the exact fit.
You'll be much much happier with the performance and sound.

It says err.
No error code.
Oh lucky me...
first traffic forced me to make a quick left turn onto a steep angle driveway... front valence lost some paint underneath...
that same night freak windstorm knocked a basketball net onto my car...
dent in hood...
now my cd player stops working... ughhhhhhhhhhh

hey eddierox....how do you like the pioneer deh-p77? I'm looking at buying one for my 99 z28 with the monsoon, and I've got a question...does the display backlight and blind you at night like the single din pioneers? I'm ready to buy a head unit, and this is a big hangup for me...do you have any pictures of it installed? If you do, that'd help a ton.

it might be a quick fix to just try and clean the lens of the CD player. Buy one of those kits from wal-mart or any where for that fact and follow the directions. Try that before going out and spending gobs of money on a aftermarket cd player.
