Its much easier to find the panel at a salvage yard and have it painted satin or flat black yourself. I know of someone that picked up an onyx black one and used it, and it looks fantastic on his red SS. To my knowledge, there really isn't a site that you can buy the panel from.

If your lucky, you can find one for about $60 to $75. Shipping is gonna run ya about $20 to $30 now that UPS lowered there shipping costs. I just sold one and it was a biotch to package so it wouldn't break. You could try EBAY.

For the professional replica, get a hold of a spare panel, have it painted flat black and cleared over with double coats. Then locate one of the sponsors selling the stainless steel "Camaro" inserts that make the panel flush.
Just don't put a GMMG or a Berger emblem on it, please.
Another option, since you have a 35th anni.: GMMG will still mod the 35th package SS for any of the 3 stages, contact Matt, he's still got all of the pieces laying around to do it. You can immediately increase the value of your car!

Thanks dude, i would suggest the same and try to find an OEM piece so you know it will match the rest of your black. This one kinda fell in my lap and is one of my best bang for the buck investments.

I just got my onyx black panel and am getting the SS in the center as soon as I get it smoothed over. I have the billet black grille with the 69 SS in the middle so I want the back to look retro also. I will get pics after I'm done

Are you gonna go with a 60's style badge or a late model badge. I had 69 Chevelle style(chrome and white) "SS" badges on my 97SS in the grill. Well it did not have a grill, but you know what I mean. It look real nostalgic.
SSTODD

Yes it will be old style (see avatar photo) so it will match the grille. white letter inset oem emblem from NPD.

You are in a very small minority if you aren't a fan of the Berger panel. Its one of the most popular appearance mods for the Camaro :)

Because the plate says Z also, he is someone with the spoiler but knows it is still a Z.

Okay, IMO ya just have to make your mind up about stuff like that. Z or SS, not both. Doesn't that just drive you crazy when people do that. It's almost like when people put Z28 emblems on their third gen RS's just because they had V8's. Not the same to me, just say no

Its not both. It says Z28 only. Having an "SS" Spoiler does not make it a
Z28/SS. Besides, IMO every base model should get ride of the flat spoiler. There fugly!

I am not sure what you are talking about. The car is my best friends, not mine and its badged correctly. The flat Z28 spoiler isn't attractive, nothing wrong with putting an OEM SS spoiler on there. The only thing that would bother me is if someone cloned their Z28 to be an SS and tried to con a potential buyer into believing it was an authentic SS. I personally don't care otherwise what someone wants to do to their car, its their money, not mine and their decision making won't affect me personally. Who really cares how someone chooses to spend their money on modding their car. I am not some form of governing body that says what you can and can't do to your car. I like to see some diversity honestly. Just my .02 :flex:

BTW does he have the SS hood or just rear spoiler? If it's just the spoiler it's good but if he bought a hood too. Why didn't he just buy an SS if that's what he wanted?

No SS hood. He is planning to put a VFN cowl hood on there :flex:
He is a Z28 fan as opposed to SS, also into the retro theme, hence the retro emblem etc. The car has manual everything, the only options it has is leather seats and CD player I believe. Its a 3300 pound car :yup:

i'm looking at one SS wanna-be right now... the guy swears its an SS. i did a vehicle build check on it and its a Z28. i printed it and showed him and he still says its an SS. but he's selling it for cheap so i dont think i'll care. i'll just buy some fishing line to get them badges off and revive the Z28. i know it aint gonna go to barret-jackson, but its out of respect of the car's history.

I don't know if they make overlays with the "SS" insignia on it, but bfranker.com makes the "SS" & "BOWTIE" emblems to go on the overlays.
