Okay, so you know those impulse decisions that yield sore results? Right, so I decided to stuff 295/45/18 tires out back, because I was tired of the low profile tires and huge fender gaps... well the rest of the car didn't like it too much, it doesn't handle poorly, but it handles more like stock, and I want to fix that. Basically the tires lifted the rear an additional 1" off the ground, which gives it a mean stance, but is throwing things off.

I'm thinking that the preferable fix is to put the car on tighter springs and adjust the shocks to compensate. Due to clearance issues out back, I can only really afford about a 1-1.5 drop, to allow a little bit of travel, so I'm thinking I'll use Pro-kit Springs out back and Sportlines out front (closing the low profile gap a little). Now I know this'll look good, but is this going to help handling, or will it make things worse? Any input?

By the way, for all those who said they wouldn't fit, or would look terrible... :flex:

i might be on the wrong thought process but i would think with the taller sidewall you might be getting unwanted flex around corners. i could be wrong tho. i would think springs might aid the issue but not fix it. :dunno:

Yes you have the wrong size (sidewall height) on the rear tires.

Burn them off and get the proper sized tires as it is way too much work to debug and create a new suspension set-up for tire size only.

Btw did you get a new tune to alter the computer to your new tire size or is the speedo reading off now?

I went with Suspension Technolgies Speed Tech Comp springs, lowers like a Sportline, but is 30lbs stiffer in the front and 20 in the rear than a ProKit and around 50 bux cheaper. They lower to exactly what you are wanting, but will not travel as much. front drop is 1.7" and rear is 1.3" It is the same kit mentioned in the Spring Specs post. Your car looks great by the way. The stance is mean.
