YIKES!!! What do you do about all the heat under the hood? It's gotta get pretty dang hot with the headers right there!

Zboner

yep it ate 3 hood already, see the pipes were sent way and were coated with somekind of spacecraft material? it cost per pipe $1,300 to have it coatd, do you notice how they are a different color?

never mind ill try and get an updated pic of the car with the coating on it, they just got them back this week, and look great. this thing is extremyl fast!! a lot of money has gone into this car, it started out as a father son project:blah: they tried to do it with not much luck and ended up burning the wiring harness and hood off and almost destroying the car, then they got the car, and has been here all summer and longer, it was a mess when they recieved the car.

I'd be coating the hood too! The turbos will still get nice and toasty. That thing must be 700-800HP easy! I'm surprised the hood didn't melt into the engine bay.

the whole engine is done also, its about 1,000 to the wheels man, the hood is coated and headers are coated also. it a 1/4 road or a bit longer it got up to 150 mph

it did, it ate 3 before they both were coated, to the owner money is not even an object.

That is just plain mental! Can't even fathom that. A buddy of mine has 628HP to the wheels of his Toyota Supra, and that seems nuts to me.

on one run, it was like stuck at 9 lbs of boost, then all of a sudden it was like someone kicked it in the ass and jumped to 22lbs of boost it an instant, i was not in the car by a friend of mine was at the time, said it was the scarriest things he has ever been in

Very nicely executed though the under hood air temp may be a problem, that said it's always cool to see different approaches from various performance shops, all good.:)

Sounds awesome pump gas I hope? Because going fast is easy with lots of money it's impressive to me if you can drive it to the local station load it up and still bust 150mph 1/4 traps then i'm like oh yeah thats sweet. For example if some remember a fellow Texan got a vette put together that raced up against a FA/18 Hornet and on pump gas he ran something like 9.2 @ 150mph and the mega expensive USGA equipment (our tax dollars) pulled 10s. But I guess his ride isn't the fastest there is since the latest pump gas drags hosted via HOT ROD magazine showed us that a big cube nitrous setup rules at something like 8.8sec on pump gas and the car drove to the track in May heat in Memphis. Also if anyone read that issue they would see where the Turbo power came in 3rd but swinged one of the fastest trap speeds of something like 168MPH!!!

Anywho fills us in.... pump gas? some 1/4 times ;)

its a beast but so will the New ZO6 on a 200 shot............ h aha
500rwhp with bolt-ons and then a 200 shot...... would be alot of fun

svt_eater

You won't need to do much "bolting on" on the new Z06. 505HP out of the box...and the way GM has been rating the cars, I'm not so sure it won't be over 475 at the wheels. At that rate, just sneeze in the right direction and it's making 500+ at the wheels. I sure wish it was affordable! It's a sick car.

Zboner
10-13-2005, 02:31 PM
to bad the car in that pic has about 1000hp to the wheels guys, its just starting out at 150mph.

That's about the trap speed you can expect from a 1000rwhp vette...it may have a few more but not much. I'd expect 155-160 assuming the car hasn't been bloated with all the extra weight...

George Baxter's 3900lb 1997 30th Ann. SS Vert ran 9.0 at 155mph with ~1150rwhp.

LS1-450
10-17-2005, 08:47 PM
I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, but, can't hold it in any longer. That has to be the most ridiculous piece of dissfunctional $h!t I have ever seen. There's something to be said for quality when adding power to a car & that aint it.....OMG. Sorry, I know that the shop didn't do the initial work, they were the one's left trying to clean up the mess. So, this is in no way a bash against them. If that's the only way to get those turbo's to fit, then it's time to re-mount smaller turbo's & call it a day.

Zboner
10-17-2005, 08:51 PM
why? it works? and has a shit load of boost

yeah i am going to have to go with ls1-450. imo it has to look good and perform. sounds like to me this guy and his son have to much money and not enough brains.

the power in that vette is nasty, with power like that, it seems like it could snap the car in half! I wonder what the top speed is on it!!!

The engine bay looks like slop. Reminds me of ricey ass imports. The only TT vette I've seen done nicely is the Lingenfelter. All the power with all the looks. :yup:

I think I could take it on my 10 speed with a 200 wet shot, I'd have the weight advantage on him

new ZO6 cant even come close to thisI should hope not since a new Z06 doesn't have TT's.
Now lets compare banana's to pears while we're at it.

Hurley711
12-11-2005, 09:11 AM
Bananas- Yellow and long, mushy on the insde and are great on cereal
Pears--Greenish and stubby, harder on the inside and not so good on cereal
