high rpms out of gear

Hi i have a 2001 ws6 all stock except borla cat back. Rpms are good starting out and driving for 20 minutes. when i then stop sometimes or take it out of gear rpms shoot up to about 1500 until i slow down and when im stopped they stay up in the 1100 range. and if i turn off my car and start it an hour later problem still there. dont know what it could be. any suggeestions?

could be your TPS or your Throttle cable sticking. try lubing the throttle cable with some WD-40 and if that dont help then try getting a TPS.

check your idle air control its on the side of your TB probley has carbon inside the air hole clean it with tb cleaner
