I'm trying to replace wheel studs on the back of my 2002 Trans Am. It has traction control, so I'm having trouble getting the studs out. Will I have to remove the C clips on the axles in the pumpkin and pull the axles out a bit to do this or is there a trick?

Are you replacing them with stock studs??
If so...you can remove and install without removing the axles.
If you are replacing them with longer studs...you will need to remove the axles.
If you plan on doing it without removing the axles...you need to remove the caliper, the rotor, and the e-brake ring. Then you get to figure out the one place each stud can be removed and replaced.

Yeah my buddy just had 3 replaced in his firehawk and the axles did NOT need to be removed just have to make sure the whole backend is off the ground and the car is in neutral until you find that sweet spot..

I found the info on ls1tech.com...
All you have to do is remove the traction control sensor, then there is a hole to pop them out from and to install the new ones.
Thanks...

BTW, in case it's not clear, the above comments on new studs without removing axels is only for stock size studs. Longer studs require the axels to be pulled out.
