I am close to purchasing a 98 Trans Am, but would like to get some feedback on some questions I have:
- What is the best means to find out if the vehicle is a true WS6? Got the hood; got the ram air intake; borla exhaust, so that's out the window. I copied the codes down off of the door, but don't know what to do with 'em. Any help here?
-What is an average cost to overhaul an LS1 engine and what should it entail? Miles are building, and plan to keep this one- I had a 2000 TA, but had to get rid of when I went to Iraq.
Thanks for any assistance is this matter...

Yes it must have the WS6 RPO or it's a Clone.
If it's not thats OK too beacause WS6's are not any faster than regular LS1 Cars.

Awesome. Thanks for the input.
- it does have the ws6 code.
Is there somewhere (link, etc.) to research the codes?

I just went to a dealer and they printed me out a sheet detailing every option that it had. It was several pages long, and they didn't even charge a cent. Now there's a first.

If it's not thats OK too beacause WS6's are not any faster than regular LS1 Cars. Yes just like the SS is not quicker than a Z28. From stock it produces a few more Hp 10-15 I think because of less restrictive exhaust.
