What does everyone think about the fixed headlights on Firebird?
I kinda like them, they look different.

Oh, and if you think it looks "rice" WTFE get over it.
Im tired of hearing, "it looks like rice what next, coffee cans and big wings" you know what, sorry to say, but some of those "rice" cars out there can still pose a threat to some of us V8 american domestic.
So, watch your mouth or you'll end up like that kid in the Viper vs Firebird thread, most likey burnt to all hell and end up on some import (thats the proper term) kill story somewhere. Im die hard American Muscle, but hey, some of those imports are pretty powerful and an AWD car will kill you on the start. I dont see any birds with AWD so, unless you do.... :Ot: sorry
Anyway, give me some input!

If ya want fixed lamps, ..., Go buy the Camaro instead, ...
In my opinion, they look like crap.

I like the idea but having a square headlight behind the lens really detracts from the smooth lines of the TA. I also hear the quality on those are horrible. The plastic lens is flimsy and the headlights arent supported all that well. Throw on a thousand dollar price tag and you dont exactly have a winning product imo.

You have squard ones on the pop-ups:dot:
and the quality of our lights when they are poped up is less than thrilling:true:
but yes, they are too expensive, not sure in the quality of product though.
im sure they can always have different light setup later

Yea they're square but they're also consealed most of the time. If you're making a fixed light with exposed lights at least make them look good. The only quality issue I've heard about for the stock lights are the plastic gears which is easily fixed with the brass ones. At least they dont flop around from the wind while you're driving like I've heard about these fixed ones lol.

They are UGLY.
And I can think of MUCH better things to do with $1000. Performance!!!!!!!!

UGLY.. I thought about it at one point too before I actually saw them. Once the webpage loaded I kicked myself in the balls so that I could never have kids with such ideas..

They look like shit and I think anyone who has them should be shot, along with the idiot who created the kit. It completely de-firebirds the firebird.

depending on the angle and hood kinda reminds me of a sunfire or a grand prix. Ilike the pop ups my self.

ok, so i take it the quality of build id less than up to standard.
And 100%, I too could think of much better things to buy for $1000 like suspention or engine mods.
I'd never get them, I like my pop-ups. But I like different. I gotta give'em props for that.

I was also refering to the plastic shroud, thats kinda flemsy, that goes around the Lights themselves and after a while, especialy if you live up north and drive your car during winter, the elements aren't very kind to your headlights.

Hard to say, honestly I don't think they look that bad, but I'd have to see them in person. I love birds with the lenses closed... and that's how they are most of the time...

Looking a little lop-sided in favor of the pop-ups.

Ah yea well I can see how that could be a problem given unfavorable driving conditions. Honestly though if I had the cash to spend on these and still afford go fast goodies, and had a black trans am I'd consider it. I'd also be buying a bottle of vht nightshade to black them out with and hid's to put in there to be able to shine adequately enough through the vht. Seeing as how all that would cost a buttload, and I dont have a black TA, its not even an option for me.

flip ups might burn a motor up every once in awhile but they kickass

Yeah, i do have to admit, id rather go fast first than look good. The car already looks good already, and who really doesn't want to go fast?:flex:
If they brought the price down to about $500, i might consider it for another T/A later, but for now, im keeping my Pop-ups.

Thats the best reason why Id consider them if they were cheaper. In fact, Id have to say its the only reason.

I own the Breathless kit, and I can tell you the plastic is not flimsy, the paperwork says it's gauranteed not to yellow, or weather so IF you still believe that seems like you could get new lens for the life of the car then.
Here is a link on LS1Tech that I made

Hey bro. I like the fixed lights. I only saw them once before. I think they are very different. I dont think they have a 'rice' look to them at all. IT's a freaking trans-am, not a honda!

That is probably the BIGGEST waste of money for these cars. Last time I checked they cost about $900. Thats a good cam/pushrod setup (40-50RWHP) I would put on a bodykit before I put these on.

Everyone says, ooo it's mod money. Maybe he has no desire to go fast, if that's the case then if it's an appearance mod, then let him do it.
