Hey Guys my name is Brandon I am new to the forum, nice to meet everybody. I own two f-bodys I have a 1997 3.8 5 speed car, and a 2000 SS 6 speed car. My SS was recently involved in an accident Rain, Bad Tires, and some jerk swerving at me. But any ways he drove off and it was concidered my fault. I did not have full coverage on my car, so I get to pay to fix everything out of my pocket oh joy. But I had a buddy tell me that the Rear End out of my V6 car was the same Rear end that was in my SS it just had different gearing, Is this True? Any resposes are highly appreciated. Thanks.

The gears might be the same. An M5/V6 may have the 3.42 gearing in the back, which is factory in your M6/LS1. The only thing that MAY be different would be the Limited Slip unit, a few SS's had the Auburn while most had the Zexel-Torsen's. The rear ends are 100% interchangeable but I'd swap over your LS1 brakes if you decide to go ahead and make the change.
