Sucks not having a ALDL cable

Ol Vette wasnt running like she should when cold. Warmed up she ran fine....but when cold she was rough and you had to keep your foot on the pedal to keep her running....so an excuse to tear into her ass :) Now HPTuners and OBDII is wonderful but these "old" 86's have ALDL....and I had to order the cable so I went "guessing" and replacing...ended up with the following....
Clean/Polish Throttle body/New Gaskets
New TPS
New IAC Valve
New Plugs/Wires
New Distributor Cap/Rotor/Coil
New Air Filter
New Fuel Filter
Still ran like shit when cold:cuss:
New ECM from NAPA
Runs like a fine tuned machine now.
I love "guessing" diagnostics :)
Got new GM Vette floor mats and cargo mat...mebbe that is what fixed her!

heh heh...sarge, i think you just buy cars so you can post in more sections. when did you get the 86?

I HAVE AN 07 z and its got a aldl obll .i have to have my scanner up dated to 07 [snap on] 1200 bucks. but on lots of cars the bottom line after hours of testing the manual sometimes said" if no problems found replace ecm" or the famous "sub. with known good" but ya fixed it and thats what counts so its gonna be a good year for ya
