I've got a knob from an 03 Cobra that I'd like to use. It is has a smaller diameter hole and differnet thread pattern than the f-body shifter uses. What size tap do I need to get to drill and tap it out to work on my WS6?
I searched and searched but all I could find was posts of pics where some people had put them in their 4th gens, but no info on drilling them out.

Shit! I would like to help you out because I just tapped one for my Camaro but a Possum with rabbies get into my garage. He got saliva and blood all over the place after my dog attacked it! Maybe tomorrow I will have it cleaned up and get the size tap you need!

Thanks. Whenever you get a chance that'll be great. Best luck to your dog. I hope he's had his rabies vacc.

Drill the hole with a 37/64" drill bit and the tap would be 5/8-18NF. I didnt use a 37/64 drill but I think it was a little smaller. It really shouldn't matter as long as the tap goes in and cuts new threads and doesn't break. If the bit is a little smaller, cut a little then back out several times and keep it lubricated well!
