No Fourth Gear!

I for some reason cannot shift into fourth. Clutch or no clutch it just grinds. I can sometimes get it in if and only if it is while slowing down. All other gears work perfect and I have never had any tranny probs. HELP!!!

Sounds like an internal transmission problem. Need more info!

Your 3/4 shift fork is wallowed out and preventing a full engagement of the synchro sleeve( what gets the gear). This is a well documented problem and the fix is as well= replace the fork with an iron one. It will require a full teardown of the trans.

Is your 3rd gear fine, i.e. it goes in smoothly all the time and doesn't pop out?? Because a bent or damaged shift fork will usually affect both gears it controls, so if the 3/4 shift fork is damaged, both gears should be having issues. It is possible that is only affects 4th gear, but its less common.
