A couple weeks ago I started having problems with my clutch. I own an '02 WS6. At low speeds in first gear my clutch doesn't seem to be releasing. It's hard to explain. I can shift to second, but when I push the clutch in I have to push it approx half way down before I feel any resistance. The pedal comes all the way up, but as I engage to shift there is no pressure. After about five minutes it's ok, or I may have to push the pedal a few times to get the pressure back up. What seems to be the problem? I'm leaning towards a new clutch, but don't want to get a stock replacement because I'm going to start with mods soon. It will be a while before I get to a H/C mod, but I don't want to have to end up buying two clutches. Can anyone give me some insite and a fix?
My 2000 Z28 did something similar. Some days it was fine but went down hill in a hurry after a few more occurrences. Had to have the Clutch Master Cylinder replaced @ 42K miles. 2000 models had a bad track record but the latter models were suppose to have a better cylinder.

If you want to replace the whole clutch, I'd look into an LS6 or LS7 GM clutch.
They retain the stock pedal feel and engagement so it wouldn't be a bear to drive, and they would be able to hold the increased power of a H/C package and/or other bolt ons.
The LS6 should be good for about 400WHP, with the LS7 being good for about 500WHP no problem.

I believe I'm already running an LS6 clutch. I only have 22,000 miles on my car and no mods yet. So replacing the clutch with another LS6 clutch doesn't really sit well with me seeing that it's already shot. Kinda makes me leary on any GM clutch. I was just hoping that it could be an easy fix and not that I would have to replace the whole thing.
