Ok my car has been unable to shift into second gear for a few weeks now and at first wouldnt throw any codes so I figured it needed a rebuild and have been driving it til I could get the money for a performabuilt tranny. Today however I scanned the car and got a p0751 and was reading about that solenoid a little bit. The car as is just climbs to about 3000 rpm under normal driving and just skips right over 2nd and goes straight into 3rd gear. Also when you are in 3rd gear and manually shift into second nothing happens except the car acts as though it is in nuetral. Could replacing that solenoid fix my problem?

yup ijust dont have second gear. I never even felt it slipping or anything before it happened so I never really wanted to believe it need a rebuild but it wasnt throwing codes for the first few days but now I have that solenoid code so I wanna try that first. I have the pan down and I pulled a solenoid but Im not really sure which one to replace now. I have checked the archives and one person said solenoid "a" was on the drivers side and another said it was on the passenger. I guess ill just have to call a tranny shop and ask them which one it is???
