Need ADVICE

Lost 3rd & 4th After playing hard other night.makes bad noise when turning and giving more than just idle

trying to pull trans and cant get to to bellhousing bolts. all trans cross bracketts are off and it seems that the motor needs to drop down some. its been a few years since i have worked on cars but i was raised in dads mechanic shop.. so i am no completly in the dark. just looking for someone who has already been down this road..

I have a 1998 transam that I drag race. Someone said I can shut the hot water going into the front of the intake, to make censors think it runs cool. Is this true? Will I get a better ET doing this?
