Poly trany mount smells...is this normal?

I installed a poly trany mount and every time I get out of my car I can smell it...almost like it is burning or getting so hot it smells. Is this normal for a few months or forever? My bud installed it....is it possible it is in backwards, or is there only 1 way and all these symptons are normal?

No,not normal.It didn't smell before you installed it,right?
There is nothing that rubs against it or anything like that so thats not it.Maybe youre buddy moved something that is rubbing against drive shaft?Better check!
